There were 30 days in September, and, like… 30,000 games.
Probably.
We didn’t actually count.
Regardless, I’m sure we can all agree that there were a lot of new games on the App Store this month. And as always, we’re here to help you out by sharing what we felt were the very best.
Five Nights at Freddy’s
It’s not often that you’ll find a horror game on your phone that provides some serious chills, but this tale of a night watchmen trying to fight off animatronic robot horrors wrapped in fluffy cuteness will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Mikey Boots
The third chapter this the Mikey Shorts saga sees our platforming hero slap on a pair of rocket boots to navigate the scenery. Like Mikey Shorts and Mikey Hooks before it, Mikey Boots manages to deliver tight controls, challenging levels, and a steady supply of fun.
Dragon Quest I
The third iOS release in the Dragon Quest series goes all the way back to the beginning, and much to our delight, it really holds up. RPG enthusiasts would be fools if they gave this one a miss.
Spider-Man Unlimited
There are plenty of behind-the-back autorunners on the App Store to pick from, but none feel as frantic and action-packed as Spider-Man Unlimited. I guess that comes with the territory when you’re a comic book hero. Bonus: there are plenty of alternate Spider-Men to collect and play as.
Cursed Treasure 2
Between Cursed Treasure 2 and Anomaly Defenders, it was a great month for tower defense on mobile. Cursed Treasure 2 eeks ahead of the competition not only because it delivers everything TD fans want (including a tough challenge), but plenty of little tweaks that help it feel like a rare breath of fresh air in an aging genre.
FIFA 15 Ultimate Team
Finally, a FIFA mobile game that knows exactly what it needs to be. Stripping away and pretensions of living up to its console counterpart, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team focuses on a single mode and excels at it. Build a team of professional footballers and climb to the top of the league.
