The 10 Best Zombie Games for iPhone, iPad and Android 2021 – The Mobile Undead

Zombies aren’t going away. We guess that’s sort of the point. They might not be as ubiquitous as they were a few years ago, but the App Store and Play Store are still packed to the rafters with games that feature the undead. There are so many, it’s almost like they’re a rapidly multiplying pathogen spread by bites…
Speculation aside, if you’re looking for a zombie game for your mobile, we’ve rounded up what we reckon are the ten best you can play in 2021. Whether you’re after slaughter, survival, basketball or bridge building, we reckon there’s going to be a game here to scratch your undead itch.
Unkilled
A big, bombastic FPS that sees you taking to the streets as a tooled-up soldier and bringing the hurt to hordes of the undead. Can the undead feel hurt? I have no idea, but they can definitely get blown to bits, which is the entire point of Unkilled.Â
It might have a terrible name, but this is a meaty, gory slice of zombie murdering that’s well worth checking out. It’s basically an extension of the Dead Trigger games, and it’s packed full of challenge, slaughter and goodies.

Into the Dead 2
Run! That’s the basic suggestion of Into the Dead 2. There are zombies everywhere and you need to make a path through them to try and get to safety. You’ve got weapons, but they’re limited – your best bet is to keep one step ahead of the shambling undead at all times.
There are some really tense moments in Into the Dead 2, and the slick controls mean it’s easy to pick up and play. You’ll die, a lot, but then you’ll jump back in and try again. Which is a pretty good thing to say about a game if you think about it.

Death Road to Canada
A less action packed take on the zombie game, this one sees you trying to make it north of the border. You need to do what it takes to survive, looting, abandoning your friends, keeping warm and well fed, abandoning some more of your friends, killing anything that gets too close.
You’re going to be confronted with almost unbelievably large hordes of the undead in this one, and it’s going to take all of your skill and guile to take them out. There’s massive amounts of replayability too, thanks to the randomly generated nature of pretty much everything in the game.

Dead Venture
Zombies have taken over the world, there are a few survivors left, all you can do to survive is drive a massive vehicle around, carelessly squishing anything that gets in your way. There’s a cartoon glee to the slaughter in Dead Venture, aided by the podgy Minecraft-esque graphics.
That’s not to say that there isn’t challenge waiting for you here. Dead Venture is a tough game, and you’re going to need to upgrade your car-of-undeath if you want to succeed. The good thing is, you probably are going to want to succeed, which means Dead Venture is going to stick around on your phone or tablet for a while.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead
It’s the mashing together of franchises that no one knew they wanted until it happened. Build bridges to foil and thwart zombies, meet characters from the TV show, and have a pretty good laugh while you’re doing it.
The elements here gel together in a way that sort of defies classification. It’s enough to say that everything works in wonderful and bizarre ways, and manages to extend the appeal of both of the series in interesting new ways. It’s pretty funny too.

Zombicide: Tactics and Shotguns
A board game adaptation that sees you taking on zombies in turn-based battles to the death. It’s not super deep, but it offers up a surprising amount of excitement as the dice roll and the slaughter begins.
There are some nice twists here, from different kinds of zombies, different survivors and an arsenal of weaponry that’d make any gun-nut grin. With more than 40 different challenges to complete, there’s enough here to keep you entertained for a good long time as well.

Infectonator 3: Apocalypse
Think all of this zombie slaughter is going too far? Would you rather take up the cause of the rotting, reanimated corpses? Then Infectonator 3 is the game for you. You’re patient zero and you need to spread the zombie plague far and wide.
It’s a neat twist and makes for some really intriguing gameplay experiences. The game’s got gorgeous pixel art graphics and offers up some neat, fast-paced tactical play. It’s pretty funny, it’s pretty challenging and it’s pretty darn good.

Basketball vs Zombies
It might not have the scope of some of the other games on this list, but there’s a whole pile of frantic arcade action waiting for you in Basketball vs Zombies. Swing your weapon, decapitate the undead, score some hoops.
This is the sort of zombie-mangling experience that fits perfectly into quick-fire mobile gaming sessions. Bus journeys are going to fly by, much like the skulls and brains of the undead soaring towards the basket.

Mini DayZ
It’s DayZ, but mini. A squished down, pixel-ified version of the zombie survival classic. Wander around a massive map grabbing what you can and trying to survive for as long as you possibly can.
There’s crafting, other survivors and a whole host more here. Don’t let the cute graphics fool you, you’re going to have to have your wits about you to stay alive in this adorable post-apocalyptic future.

Last Day on Earth
Another survival game, this time with a grimmer outlook and art style. Most people are dead and you’re going to join them soon if you don’t start building somewhere to live, finding food to eat and weapons to protect yourself with.
Oh, and watch out for the zombies that want to feast on your flesh. It’s dark, it’s dour and you’re going to have a whale of a time playing through it’s ransacked and godless vision of the future.
