IAPs are a monetization strategy that some people just don’t like. That’s cool, we get it, they’re not for everyone. And if you’re looking for a mobile game that doesn’t have any IAPs, you’ve definitely come to the right place. Because this here is a list of the ten best mobile games in 2021 that don’t have any.

There are action games, puzzlers, racers, RPGs and much more. We’ve tried to include something for everyone, no matter what kind of genre you’re into. And the best part is, in all of these games you pay once and get to play for as long as you like. What a crazy concept, we wonder if it’ll catch on?

Monument Valley 2

UsTwo’s Monument Valley series offers some of the most engaging and entertaining mobile gameplay we’ve ever seen. It’s a perspective-shifting puzzler with a wonderful story, a gorgeous art style and about a million other things going for it. It’s the sort of game that’s going to leave you with a smile on your face for days.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

Really we could have put either KOTOR game on here. Or the excellent Jade Empire. They’re all brilliant RPGs squished down into mobile form without losing any of the things that made them great. Whichever of them you buy – they’re all pay once and play – you’re not going to be disappointed.

80 Days

A narrative-drive choose your own adventure experience that does more than those words could ever hope to capture. Travel around the world, meet intriguing characters and try to keep your master alive. It’s brilliant, it’s engaging and you get it all with a single premium payment.

Final Fantasy IX

The very best Final Fantasy game, but in the palm of your hand. There are days of gameplay waiting for you here, and a breathtaking story featuring some of the best characters the minds behind FF have ever come up with. If you haven’t played this one yet, make sure you do.

Crashlands

A survive-’em-up with real heart and some wonderful ideas. You smash into an alien planet and need to craft, fight and explore. It’s every bit as entertaining as that sounds. In fact, it’s quite a lot more entertaining than that sounds. No IAPs either. Bosh.

Wayward Souls

Hands down this is one of the very best action games that money can buy on mobile. Wander through randomly generated dungeons hacking, slashing and spelling anything that gets in your way. Then die, and do it all over again.

Framed 2

A game that’s all about rearranging the panels of a comic to get the protagonist from A to B unharmed. It’s a narrative driven puzzler with an amazing soundtrack and some fresh ideas. It’s tricky in all the right ways and you’re going to fall in love with it. Check out the first game in the series too.

Oceanhorn

A 3D adventure that’s inspired by the likes of Zelda, this one sees you exploring islands, learning new skills and generally having a lovely old time. It’s bright, challenging and packed full of content. Its sequel, which is available on Apple Arcade, is well worth digging out as well.

Reigns: Her Majesty

The Reigns games are all pretty darn brilliant, but we reckon this one is the best of the bunch. And it doens’t have any IAPs. Take the role of a queen trying to navigate the tricky process of leadership. Die and you’ll take the throne as her daughter. Full of magic, whimsy and heart.

Riptide GP: Renegade

A racing game featuring super-powered jet skis, ridiculous tricks and the sort of arcade action that’s going to make your eyes pop. It’s fast, it’s furious, it has nothing to do with family and there are no IAPs.
