As if we’re already a quarter of the way through the year. How has that happened? Who knows? But it has happened, which means it’s time for us to round up the best games that came out on mobile in March 2021.

It’s been a pretty impressive month, all told. We’ve got ports, we’ve got exclusives, we’ve got a game about setting fire to giant spiders. Whether you’re looking for something to lose hours of your life to, or to fill in those quiet moments when the voices can creep back in, well we’ve got your back.

So here are the top 10 best mobile games released in March 2021. We’ve even included download links, so you can jump straight for reading about a game to playing it. What a world we live in.

League of Legends: Wild Rift

One of the best MOBAs in the world is now available in the palm of your hand. Rebuilt for mobile, with plenty of added tweaks to make it even more playable, this is every bit as good as the home version. Pick it up, give it a go and find out what everyone’s been banging on about for the past few years.

Box It Up! Inc

A sweaty-palmed, box-packing puzzler that’s going to test your grey matter and your reactions. It takes ideas from a bunch of other games, twists them together with some smart concepts of its own and ends up as a heady and addictive concoction.

Cobra Kai: Card Fighter

A super-slick card fighter built around the surprisingly awesome TV show. There might not be any of the existential angst, but there’s plenty of kicking and punching, which is what forms 50% of the show anyway. Even if you’re not a fan, the combat system is well worth checking out.

Queen: Rock Tour

A rhythm game built around the career of one of the biggest bands in the world. Its tapping and swiping are super compulsive, and it’s put together with love. This doesn’t feel like a cheap cash-in, it feels like a legitimate addition to Queen’s legacy. It’s loads of fun too.

Ping Pong Fury

Ping pong games are the best sports games. Ping Pong Fury is probably the second best ping pong game. Smack your way through a series of opponents, get better gear and work your way up the rankings. Perfect for a quick bout of pinging and ponging.

Final Fantasy VII: Remastered

It’s been a while coming, but you can finally play FF8 on your phone or tablet. We could discuss for hours if this is the weakest of the PS1 era Final Fantasy games, but even if it is, it’s still a massive, story-driven adventure that’s got a super cool gun-sword in it.

Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee

Dungeon of the Endless is a smart mixture of tower defence and survival gameplay, with a good shake of roguelite on top. It’s really good, and this new version features all of the DLC released since the game came out. So it’s really good-er.

Slime Labs

A squishy, squelchy physics platformer with some neat ideas and a pace all of its own. It’s challenging in all of the right ways, and brings more to the table than just another quite-difficult twitch-leaper.

Download from the App Store or Play Store

Fer.al

A soft, ethereal MMO that sees you wandering through a gorgeous world and finding stuff. Customize your avatar, go on quests, hang out with friends, look at weird trees. It’s not a difficult game, but it’s a game that’s difficult not to love.

Kill It With Fire

A game all about smashing insects and arachnids and other creepy crawlies. Burn them, thwack them, just make sure they don’t take over your house. Sure, you might destroy said house in the process, but that’s half the fun.
