Great news gamers! iOS 8 is finally here, and with it comes a handful of cool new features that you’ll be excited about — including some changes on the App Store.

For the first time ever, publishers are now able to bundle their apps together and offer them at a discounted price. And as you’d expect, there are a lot of bundles on day one. Some of them offer fantastic deals, and some of them don’t.

We’ve sorted through the chaff to identify 5 game bundles that are well worth the money.

inkle Adventures!

The Games: Sorcery! Part 1, Sorcery! Part 2, 80 Days, Down Among The Dead Men

The Price: $11.99 ($15.96 if purchased separately)

The Reason: If you’re both a reader and a gamer, gamebooks are an absolute treat – and inkle’s are among the best. This bundle collects all four of their titles (including Down Among The Dead Men, which is less than a day old as of this writing) and can save you a cool four dollars. And trust us – once you’ve bought one of their games, you’ll want to buy them all.

Mikey Trilogy

The Games: Mikey Shorts, Mikey Hooks, Mikey Boots

The Price: $2.99 ($5.97 if purchased separately)

The Reason: BeaverTap Games seem to have mastered the clever mix of old school appeal and quick-play gaming. You might think a series of platformers would get stale by the third installment, but by focusing each game on a different mechanic, these are a blast to play throughout. If you were thinking of picking up the recently released Mikey Boots, for just a dollar more you can have the whole franchise.

Final Fantasy 6+1-in-One

The Games: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI

The Price: $69.99 ($97.93 if purchased separately)

The Reason: You love classic RPGs, but you hate the absurd prices that Square Enix charges for mobile games (though, to be fair, they’re pretty well justified considering how much game you get). And while this bundle doesn’t include every Final Fantasy game on the App Store, it does include all of the games that existed before the PlayStation era (plus a sequel to one of those games that’s much more recent). If you’re looking to relive your Final Fantasy-loving childhood, you won’t be able to do it for a much better price than this.

Fantastic Role Playing Games

The Games: Aralon: Sword & Shadow, Coldfire Keep, Evertales, Mighty Dungeons, Mines of Mars, Pocket RPG, Rimelands: Hammer of Thor, Demonrock: War of Ages, Ravensword: Shadowlands

The Price: $14.99 ($36.91 if purchase separately)

The Reason: If you’re looking for sheer variety, you’re going to have a hard time finding a better bundle than this. The term “role-playing games” is used loosely here. All 9 of these titles all have roots in the genre, but you’ll find platformers, crafting games, and more. And for the most part, they’re really good.

Gamebook Adventures MEGAbundle

screen1136x1136[1]

The Games: An Assassin in Orlandes, The Siege of the Necromancer, Slaves of Rema, Revenant Rising, Catacombs of the Undercity, The Wizard from Tarnath Tor, Temple of the Spider God, Curse of the Assassin, Sultans of Rema

The Price: $24.99 ($53.91 if purchased separately)

The Reason: They might not be quite as shiny as the gamebooks inkle produces, but Tin Man Games knows how to do the genre right. They’re constantly pumping out great new reads, many of which are based on existing properties. But Gamebook Adventures? That’s their own universe, and these 9 books make up everything that’s transpired in it so far.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
