There is no sense of joy like outplaying and outlasting 100 other players to take home that delicious chicken dinner. Choosing the right Battle Royale (BR) has always been a tough decision. Are the taunts entertaining, are the costumes too wacky and are we allowed to build our own cover? These questions can make or break a BR game, hopefully, we have the right BR for you in our comprehensive list.
I don’t think I need to explain what a staple PUBG is in the BR community. It was one the first to offer a realistic and intense survival experience, where enemies could be behind any rock or tree in every direction. Winning isn’t as simple as run around and build cover while being shot at, winning requires patience, strategy and great aim.
PUBG has four rather large maps and a wealth of weapons at your disposal. There are vehicles, alternate game modes and a crazy amount of customisation for you and your weapons. If you haven’t given PUBG ago, then you must. If you have and are looking for something else, then keep reading.
I know you have probably heard of Fortnite and PUBG, I figured let’s get the obvious out of the way first. Fortnite succeeds where PUBG failed, by making the BR wacky and fun. There are loads of bizarre characters, so it’s possible for John Wick and a banana to have a shootout.
If you are a serious gamer, then perhaps the light-hearted fun on Fortnite isn’t for you. I should also mention you can build crazy structures in Fortnite, so if you don’t fancy massive building fights with other players then keep reading.
Cyber Hunter succeeds where many other Battle Royales have failed. It has successfully implemented its own take on the BR universe. You can climb any building and glide to safety whenever you feel like. You can spawn in vehicles to traverse the map quickly, and there are many other objects or abilities you can spawn in.

Rules of Survival is always playing catch up, regarding what features they include. There is a revive system and a very similar HUD and loot system to PUBG. Don’t let imitation put you off, Rules of Survival allows for a whopping 120 players in one game. I think we can all agree that the more players there are, the merrier it is.

Knives Out appears the developers were inspired by PUBG when designing their game. Buildings, loot and vehicles are also inspired by the PUBG franchise, which is not awful. If you are trying to break away from PUBG, then maybe this is not the one for you.
Battlelands Royale is a much quicker more casual version of a battle royale. There are only 32 players in a map, meaning games last around 5 minutes instead of twenty. A problem with all the games mentioned above is games often last well over 20 minutes, which is straining for most mobile devices.
Battlelands Royale is made with the casual gamer in mind. The graphics are low def but quirky, there are plenty of skins and items to get and there is no jumping from a plane. When you start the game you just select where on the map you want to land and then you slowly parachute in from 10 meters away.
Creative Destruction is a BR with some cartoony elements. There is a lot of dancing and the scaling of props and buildings is wacky, to say the least. A big positive for this game is it’s low def but you can build, making it more tactical than other battle royales.
Pocket Royale is another low def simplified BR experience. You can build and servers are small with around 20 players in each map. Gameplay is simple and the controls are just as manageable.

Survival Heroes is a MOBA where RPG elements meet a battle royale situation. So you spend the begging of the game killing NPCs and ranking up, then you go to the final circle and become the last squad standing. A nice change from the copy-paste BRs out there.
This BR is best described as Minecraft with guns. There can only be 30 players in a game which makes matches quick and those wins even quicker.
This is another mini BR where lobbies are small and wins are fast. Graphics are low def and actually nice. There are a lot of positives to take from this game, even though it’s simplistic compared to most battle royales.
Giant.io is a Battle Royale that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Lobbies are small and the graphics and sounds are low quality, one to avoid if you are a serious gamer.
ZombsRoyale is a top-down battle royale where gameplay is a throwback to the early days of mobile gaming. If you are looking for a simplified BR which still has 100 players, then this is the one for you.

Pixel’s Unknown Battle Ground is a cute low definition battle royale. Although weapons are plenty in this BR, ammo is just not found anywhere, so keep swapping weapons to win the game.
Pixel Battle Royale is almost as low poly as you could go. Gameplay is like Minecraft but with guns and awful textures. A good five minutes of fun if you have five minutes to kill.
Bullet Echo is a strategic BR experience mostly in the dark. Use the torch on your gun to navigate the map and find all the players hiding in buildings. This is another top-down 2D perspective but with cartoon graphics.
Guns Royale is a pixel-based battle royale where your field of vision is only a couple of yards around you. Making combat close quarters and costly if you are spotted first because it is difficult to aim.
Mad GunZ brings me back to the good old days of Doom. Except, this time we aren’t killing monsters, it’s a battle royale where there can only be one winner.
Survivor Royale brings good graphics to the table, and some home comforts from PUBG. The map is huge and games are long, so this is not for the casual gamer.
Surviv.io is like other games on this list, its a 2D battle royale from a birdseye view. The graphics look like they were designed on Microsoft Paint. Games are quick and fun, it feels like a team deathmatch more than a BR.
BattleBears Royale is a bear-based battle royale where your characters have tons of quips to say on kill. Not a lot more to say about this one, just a battle royale with humour.
This mobile game brings me back to the glory days of PS1 and early PS2. You will know what I mean as soon as you play, it has a Vice City feel to it.
