If you’ve been waiting for a fantastic week for new iPhone and iPad game releases, good news: it’s here. With a great mix of hotly anticipated titles, unannounced surprises, and quirky oddball stuff, you should have no trouble finding something to sink your teeth into.

Did we miss anything great? Be sure to let your fellow readers know in the comments below!

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

Five Nights at Freddy's 2

It’s been the hottest thing on the App Store all season, so you’d better believe the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s would be making its way to the App Store. This time around you’ll have to contend with a new flashlight mechanic and a music box that needs to stay wound at all times.

Kingdom Rush Origins

Kingdom Rush Origins

The third entry in the  Kingdom Rush franchise is finally here. Our review is coming shortly, but if you can’t wait, here’s the short version: this is a must buy for every fan of tower defense games.

Gems of War

It wasn’t long ago that we first caught wind of Gems of War, the latest project from the team that brought you the original Puzzle Quest… and now it’s here! This one looks to combine PQ basics with CCG gameplay. Even if you’re not a card game fan, it’s a mechanic that has worked well when mixed into other genres before.

ANNO: Build an Empire

screen1136x1136[1]

The free-to-play mobile alternative to Ubisoft’s cult-hit strategy Anno series makes its debut this week, but is it a proper strategy game, or just a pretty free-to-play city-builder? We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve decided.

Vainglory

MOBAs are the biggest games going if you look at the numbers, but on mobile they’ve yet to really gain traction. This week’s big release (showcased by Apple during the iPhone 6 reveal, no less) is hoping to change that, and is created by a studio of veteran developers who know the genre better than most.

Crossy Road

Endless Frogger with a gashapon-style collection mechanic. You’re welcome.

Sunburn!

screen1136x1136[1]

Nobody should die alone. Not even in space. Bend gravity to your will as you collect the missing members of your space crew, then hurl yourself into the sun LIKE A TEAM.

The Last Door: Collector’s Edition

screen1136x1136[1]

We fell in love with The Last Door when it was a browser-only title, and again when it hit Steam. Now the game has finally gone mobile, and yes, we’re going to tell you yet again that you really need to play this. If Edgar Allen Poe made a point-and-click adventure, this would be it.

Earn to Die 2

screen1136x1136[1]

Killing zombies is fun. Pimping your ride is fun. OF COURSE A GAME THAT DOES BOTH IS AMAZING. A lot of people loved the first Earn to Die, and as you’d expect, that means it’s earned another chance to occupy your spare time.

Checkpoint Champion

screen1136x1136[1]

Former Halfbrick developers break away from the studio to make a game that… looks decidedly Halfbrick. If you’re a fan of mobile games, you’d have to agree this is a very good thing. Drive around like a maniac trying to pass over checkpoint circles with only 5 seconds to spare.

Ninjump Dash

screen1136x1136[1]

We’ve seen more than a few Ninjump games since the original. The latest looks a little like Ninjump Rooftops, but with a focus on multiplayer racing. If you like a good endless run, I’d say this is worth a shot at your busy schedule this week.

Football Manager Handheld 2015

screen1136x1136[1]

There are plenty of soccer (football… whatever) management games on the App Store, but while most developers have gone in a more restrictive free-to-play direction, SEGA is championing the world of premium sports management games with a pay-once-and -your-finished mobile version of their popular PC franchise. (wait… it says “offers in-app purchases”? DAMMIT!)

Creature Academy

screen1136x1136[1]

Kabam is trying their hand this week at a Pokemon-style monster collecting game. No, not Moonrise – we’re still waiting for that.

Twin-stick shooters are nothing new, but twin-stick shooters with a limited field of vision? That’s a pretty neat concept. The creators of House of the Lost are behind this one, and at the low low price of free, it’s intriguing enough to earn a spot on my download list today.

Offroad Legends 2

screen1136x1136[1]

Sometimes you just want a rough and tumble physics driving game. We’ve been seeing more and more of these crop up again recently on the App Store, and if the original Offroad Legends is anything to go by, the sequel should have no problem scratching that itch.

Global Assault

screen1136x1136[1]

Described by Kongregate as “a free squad-based RPG,” we’re not 100% sure what to expect with Global Assault. Sometimes games with such descriptions are amazing, and other times you’re embarrassed that you even downloaded them. At the very least, this one is pretty. And having Kongregate as a publisher doesn’t hurt, either.

Hatchi 2

screen1136x1136[1]

A virtual pet sequel to a virtual pet success, I’d play this cuteness if I didn’t have two dogs demanding my attention whenever I’m not holding a touchscreen device. If you live in an apartment and can’t share in my personal heaven, this has the potential to be the next best thing.

Monster Feeder

screen1136x1136[1]

This thing seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I just want to know if Elmo or the Gremlin are more likely to bite me if I mishandle the food.

Wild Wild West

screen1136x1136[1]

There just aren’t enough cowboy games out there, and judging by the press material, this one might just cover all of the cowboy bases. Gunfights, horse-riding, stage coaches – the whole nine yards.

Anicent Battle: Successors

screen1136x1136[1]

Hunted Cow have become a go-to name in strategy war gaming, so if you’re looking to pick up such a thing this week, why not journey back to the days that followed the death of Alexander the Great?

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
