It’s been a little while since we last looked at what’s new and worth diving into on Google Play, but if the last 6 weeks are any indication, there are plenty of games that should have kept you occupied in the interim.

Did you miss any? Here are the 16 new Android games that we’ve been spending time with lately.

Outwitters

This fantastic multiplayer turn-based strategy from the makers of Tilt to Live was critically-acclaimed (and financially a flop) on iOS back in 2012. Now, after much tweaking, the game is getting a second lease on life courtesy of Android gamers.

Blockwick 2

Sliding block puzzles are nothing new, but the way the Kieffer Bros. approached the genre puts a very unique spin on things. They’ve made quite a name for themselves among puzzle game aficionados on mobile, and Blockwick 2 is arguably their best release to date.

Road to Dragons

A little bit of puzzling, a little bit of battling, Road to Dragons was a big hit in Japan. Now it’s come stateside, and hopes to wow you as well as it did it’s original audience.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 3

Could this be the end of the FNAF franchise? Maybe! If you haven’t jumped into the Five Nights at Freddy’s phenomenon yet, you’ll be pleased to knows that FNAF3 seems to wrap up the story that started in the first two games… well, so long as you get the good ending.

An indie gaming classic finally makes its way to Google Play. If you’ve never played it, stop what you’re doing and make your way to Limbo immediately.

Fotonica

fotonica

How fast can you run? With a minimalist design, one-handed controls, and 8 different, Fotonica is the stylish runner you’ve been waiting for. It made a big splash on iOS last fall, and I can’t see it doing any less now that it’s on Android.

Space Chicks

One of the coolest hidden gems on the App Store finally comes to Google Play. Space Chicks is an endless one-touch platformer about running around planets, using gravity, and saving the girl(s).

Stormblades

The makers of Subway Surfers try their hand at the Infinity Blade formula. Sure it’s familiar, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t pretty.

High Sea Saga

High Sea Saga

The latest Kairosoft game puts players in control of their very own pirate ship, managing everyone from adventurers to the ship’s cool. Get that booty.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

xmenDFP1[1]

Based on the original comics and not last year’s film, Days of Future Past is a side-scrolling action game that feels a lot like something from the Genesis-era. Whether or not that’s a good thing is up to you.

To Be Or Not To Be

Hamlet and hilarity. What more could a gamebook player ask for?

Nitrome is quickly becoming a go-to name in mobile games. Their latest is an endless title about drawing the icons you see on balloons to pop them — and you’ll want to pop them. If you don’t, the villains those balloons are lowering down will quickly bring an end to your wizarding ways.

Gamebooks meet comic books in this tale of doomsday survival. You’ll need to pick the right tools and friends if you want to make it out alive!

Heavenstrike Rivals

Square Enix has merged the worlds of free-to-play mobile and tactical RPGs together in this unique (and addictive) blend that, speaking personally, I can’t seem to put down. I guess that means they’re doing something right.

Angry Birds Stella POP!

Bubble poppers were all the rage on Google Play not too long ago — can a certain avian brand revive them? Rovio is hoping so with their release of Angry Birds Stella POP!, their second release with the spin-off “Stella” brand and characters.

borderlands4

You’ve been waiting three months for the second episode of Telltale’s Borderlands story to launch. You’re tired. You’re hungry. You’re eager to play. NOW YOU CAN. GET ON IT ALREADY.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
