Are the millions of games already on the App Store not enough for you? Never fear! There are plenty more games on the way. Here are 15 that we’re particularly excited about.

The makers of Quadropus Rampage and Towelfight 2 are taking on their most ambitious project yet – a mix of exploration, fighting, and collecting.

Do you like Tetris? How about Threes? If you’re a fully-functioning human being, the answer to both of those questions is a resounding yes. That’s why we’re so keen on Joinz, an upcoming puzzle game from Noodlecake (Super Stickman Golf) that combines elements of both.

Galactic Keep: Dice Battles

A tabletop RPG simulation that’s been in the works for more than five years, we eventually chalked this one up as vaporware — and then we played it. It’s real, it exists, and it’s every bit worth the wait.

Marvel Contest of Champions

Kabam has had quite a few sizable hits on mobile, but this might just be their first “super”-sized one. They’ve recently announced an upcoming brawler set in the Marvel Universe. There aren’t too many details quite yet, but the first screens have us absolutely salivating for some hero-on-hero violence.

Territory – everybody wants it, but not everybody can have it. This stylish little board game is all about taking land and blocking your opponent, and aims to bring local player fun to your iPhone and iPad later this year.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Online

Recently shown off at the Pokemon World Championships in Washington D.C., the popular Pokemon TCG will be making it’s way to the App Store at some point in the future. There’s no release date, but considering it was in a playable form at the show, I can’t imagine we’ll be waiting too long.

Smarter Than You

We love a good mystery, and Smarter Than You is definitely that. Not a mystery game, mind you – but a mystery because we don’t know what the hell it is. We know it’s from EightyEight Games, aka the folks behind 10000000, but is the trailer above for a rock/paper/scissors game everything we can expect? Is that a red herring? Considering their marketing and Twitter hijinx, we’re honestly not sure.

The Developer of 10000000 is Smarter Than You

Angry Birds Transformers

Rovio partnering with a toy company for another Angry Birds license isn’t surprising, but it does have the potential to be pretty cool. Rumor has it that the game will take it’s cues from their kart racer, Angry Birds GO!. Maybe it’ll be a mix of kart racing and robot combat? We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

The Journey Down: Chapter Two

The Journey Down: Chapter One was a fantastic piece of point-and-click adventuring, but Chapter Two never followed. After a long wait (2+ years!), the sequel has finally been confirmed by developers Skygoblin.

Twilight Struggle

A well-celebrated political board game is finally making it’s way to digital platforms, and they’ve tapped the right developer to do it. Playdek managed to raise nearly 8x the $50,000 goal on Kickstarter. Expect to dominate the globe in early 2015.

Phantom Rift

Foursaken Media makes some cool games. Bug Heroes 2, Monster Adventures, Block Fortress: War – the list goes on and on. Their next is a tale of wizards, and it looks an awful lot like Mega Man Battle Network, which… awesome.

Kingdom Rush 3

If you like tower defense games, you like the Kingdom Rush franchise. Both Kingdom Rush and Kingdom Rush: Frontiers are among the very best on the platform. We don’t have any real details quite yet, but developer Ironhide Studios has confirmed that, yes, a third game is in the works.

High Moon

Who better to feature in a dueling game than cowboys? How about magical space cowboys? Why High Moon is on this list needs no further explanation.

This War of Mine

Video games about war are nothing new. Video games about the horrors of war and how they impact civilians, however, aren’t exactly a common occurrence. Yet that’s the approach 11 bit studios is taking with This War of Mine, a tale of wartime survival.

X-Mercs: Invasion

Looking for a little more XCOM in your life? 2K may not have another official mobile game in the chamber just yet, but we’re pretty stoked to see Game Insight’s take on the genre.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
