Choo-choo! All aboard the new release train! It’s Thursday morning here in North America, and that means the App Store Fairy delivered all sorts of new presents to boys and girls with iPhones and iPads.

Some look like sure things, some are a gamble – play what you can and let us know what you think!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies

ace1

A big 3DS release from last year is already on iOS? And it’s free to try, and only $14.99 to buy? Ok – this is a winner no matter how you slice it. Plus, when has a Phoenix Wright game ever been bad?

Star Realms

Shot down by the App Store approval process more than once, this deck-building game has already started to make a name for itself on Google Play. Now iOS owners can get to see what all the fuss is about.

America’s Next Top Model

I’m honestly not holding my breath on this one – dress up games are a dime a dozen. THAT SAID, sometimes all a fashion title needs is a good brand attached to it. You know this, because you’re still playing Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.

Qube Kingdom

Voxel-art fantasy heroes fighting to defend their kingdom through tower defense? Yeah… That’s going to be hitting my iPhone today.

Pako

We’ve covered Pako more than a few times here on GZ, and we’ll no doubt cover it again with a review in the coming days. It’s a “how long can you survive?” game, with a “no brakes/run from the law” twist. Good fun, to be sure.

WWE SuperCard

Like wrasslin’? How about card battle games? Congratulations – 2K has delivered you a healthy mix of both.

Champ Man 15

One of the kings of deep, rich, soccer simulations is back! If you’re a footie fan, and you like games that put you in the coach’s/owner’s seat, this is one you’ll want to check out.

Light Apprentice

This one snuck up on us pretty quietly – we didn’t even know it was a thing until it hit the App Store! Light Apprentice promises a mix of “comic book” and “gamebook” unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Bik – A Space Adventure

Bik_Baste_FarmerAndThug[1]

A new point’n’click outer space adventure with a retro Sierra style. As a Space Quest fan, I believe this is one I’m going to approve of.

Sentinel 4: Dark Star

Another nice, reliable tower defense game in the Sentinel series. If it’s a genre you’re still asking for more of, Sentinel games are always a fairly safe bet.

Corpse Party

In the words of those great philosophers Oingo Boingo, “It’s a dead man’s party, who could ask for more?” A Japanese horror game that hit the PSP in 2011 is now yours to enjoy on the iPhone.

GravityLine

It looks stylishly minimal. Sometimes that’s all it takes to sell us. Though the description of players removing a dangerous bacteria “using a microscope, cool tools, wits and your reflexes” doesn’t hurt either.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
