By anybody's standards, Jason Citron is what you'd called accomplished. As the founder of OpenFeint, he created a mobile gaming network arguably more robust than Apple's proprietary Game Center. Then, he turned around and sold it to mobile-social giant GREE for $104M. Now? He's looking to make some of the best games ever played on mobile, all with a little help from some friends... and investors.
iSwifter is a product that's undergone some fascinating changes since its inception last year. Designed to allow iPad users to appreciate the wonders of Flash, version 1.0 offered up a successful, if less than stellar proof of concept. 2.0 tightened things up and added much more content for iPad users to consume. But 3.0? 3.0 is the real game changer.
Best known as the incubator that brought us OpenFeint, CrowdStar, and Sibblingz, YouWeb has decided to take a break from the big boys to step into the sandbox with the little ones. The company has just announced its latest venture Pluto Plays Music, an educational game for the iPad that encourages kids to get involved in the world of music.
Remember Sibblingz? Of course you do. They're the cross-platform solution that debuted last year allowing developers to develop for multiple platforms at once. Crowdstar made good use of the service, releasing games like Happy Island and It Girl on Facebook, iOS, and Android. Now they've announced version 2.0 of their platform, codenamed "Spaceport."
