Adelantado Trilogy: Book One Preview
By Brandy Shaul
In the Age of Discovery, the leaders of Spain are interested in expanding the country's grasp via uncharted territories overseas (that they believe are full of gold and riches). The Spanish Queen has assigned a group of explorers to the task, but when the expedition falls silent, an officer by then name of Don Diego De Lion is called in to investigate.Katy and Bob: Way Back Home Review
By Brandy Shaul
While summer might mean endless days of lounging in the sun for the more affluent among us, one pair of siblings, Katy and Bob, are learning the hard way that money doesn't magically appear out of thin air. In Katy & Bob: Way Back Home, these spoiled young adults are tricked into taking a "relaxing vacation" that turns into more of a glorified work camp, as they're stranded on a island where credit cards mean nothing, and must work for their money to get back home.Youda Jewel Shop Review
By Nadia Oxford
What if assembling jeweled rings, cutting diamonds, and engraving silver necklaces was as easy as slapping toppings on a hamburger? Well, you probably wouldn't want anything to do with a jewelry shop that treats rare gems like fast food, but go ahead and pretend that the world of Youda Jewel Shop is some kind of alternate reality. That way you can enjoy the title's addictive time-management gameplay without wondering why teenage girls are able to afford diamonds the size of their fists.SpongeBob Diner Dash Deluxe Review
By Nadia Oxford
As a character, Spongebob Squarepants is perfectly suited for the Diner Dash formula. After all, he is probably the only creature in existence who thrives as an employee in the world of fast food. And while the little sponge certainly seems happy enough in SpongeBob Diner Dash Deluxe, the game breaks down into a pretty basic Diner Dash experience. It's fun for a while, sure, but given the playful nature of the SpongeBob universe, it could have gone that extra mile to be especially memorable.Weather Lord Review
By Brandy Shaul
If there's one thing man can't control, it's the weather. That may be the case in the real world, but in Alawar's newest time management game Weather Lord (or is it Weather Master? That's what it's called on the title screen), you're given the chance to take over for Mother Nature, and will be able to help humans grow fertile crops, repair destruction left behind by other weather events and more. Unfortunately, the game's inconsistent name is the least of its problems.Dead Hungry Diner Review
By David Becker
Zombies, vampires and all kinds of monsters seem to be the latest thing not only in casual gaming, but in pop culture as a whole. In Dead Hungry Diner the player accompanies Gabe and Gabby, twins who have been raised in an orphanage, who feed a vast number of monsters to save their hometown Ravenwood. How this game easily surpasses similarly themed games in the genre, you can read in this review.Legends of Atlantis: Exodus Review
By Brandy Shaul
Over the years, quite a few casual games have been released that focus on the mythology of the lost city of Atlantis. Whether the games detail its destruction or later discovery by scientists, there tends to be a focus on how or why the city was ultimately lost. In Legends of Atlantis: Exodus, we don't have to make guesses or assumptions, as we're transported directly back to the beginning of the island's isolated Armageddon, as earthquakes, tidal waves and more threaten to wipe out the culture's inhabitants, history and even the very land upon which both have been built.Dragon Keeper 2 Review
By Bryan Lufkin
Forget ant farms and sea monkey colonies. It's time for treasure-filled caves populated with dragons, imps, trolls, bandits, and a ton of other fanciful, scaly inhabitants. In Dragon Keeper 2, you'll play parent to a bunch of dragons in order to combat an evil witch. Yeah—a little more exciting than tending to a hermit crab tank.
