Sovereign: Kingdoms isn't a particularly original game. In it, you get to build and manage a budding rural village, travel to strange places and fight vicious monsters, and customize your very own adventurer. It's sort of like a role playing game crossed with a city building sim. And while neither of those aspects is all that engaging on their own, they come together to form a decent and rather addictive experience.
Are you sick and tired of your boring 9-5 job at the office cubicle? Do you wish that you could use some high-powered firearms to work through those pesky anger issues? Do you look sexy in space armor? Then may I suggest that you join up with your local branch of interstellar mercenaries? The pay is great, the hours are reasonable, and - if Hunters: Episode One is any evidence - mowing down your enemies can be incredibly therapeutic.
There isn't a more iconic RPG franchise than Gauntlet, but the game has yet to appear on iOS devices. Thankfully, German developer Smuttlewerk Interactive is working filling this gap with a new title for the iPad: Companions.
Shadow Era is an online collectible card game from Kyle Poole for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You'll need to build a powerful deck to defeat your opponents. To get started, look no further than Gamezebo's quick start guide with plenty of tips, tricks, hints and cheats that will help you on your journey.
Shadow Era is a new CCG (collectible card game) similar to genre stalwart Magic: The Gathering. I don't say this as a bad thing, quite the opposite really. It's instantly comfortable to those of us familiar with the game, but different enough to never feel like a copycat. In fact it's really quite different, and in very good ways. It's definitely inspired by games like Magic but make no mistake, Shadow Era is its own game - and quite a good one at that.
Starship Command takes the basic Facebook text RPG formula and dresses it up with richer visuals and a slick sci-fi theme. While you can see your ship as you push it around the map to look for rivals to fight and see representations of places you go to buy upgrades, Starship Command is as much a game about clicking through menus as the original Mafia Wars. Its appeal is likewise much the same, though the richer visuals and music help Starship Command feel a bit more immersive than most text RPGs. Still, if you've played almost any text RPG, Starship Command will feel very familiar, very fast.
There's a real lack of quality sci-fi RPG's in the App Store right now, but it looks like fans of the genre are due to get a pretty epic one in the near future. Rodeo Games is going to unleash Hunters Episode One on iOS devices shortly, and it looks like the game might just provide players with a huge amount of content to play through.
Welcome to Sinistral, the galaxy's hottest new vacation hot spot! During your stay, please feel free to hike through our planet's jungle fields, ski across our snow-filled landscapes, or check out the mysterious alien ruins that were recently uncovered. That said, you might want to keep your eyes and ears open so you can avoid the occasional, tiny little battle between the Consortium, Wardens, and Myriad species. Tourists don't enjoy the same protection that medics and diplomats do (also, the Myriad think they make for tasty snacks). Thanks for your understanding during this (ahem) challenging time; your patience is appreciated.
