The term "Pax Brittanica" refers to a roughly one hundred year period of peace in Europe following the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The British controlled most of the maritime trade routes and went generally unchallenged in the sea. Trade expansion was widespread for the British as they began to dominate the overseas markets. The free Android game Pax Brittanica was made by a small team of Canadians and is a futuristic one touch real time strategy game where you try to blow up a rival submarine seacraft. Hopefully the parallels are as easy to see for you as they are for me.
The story of Allied Star Police has managed to spread across the Web and warm a lot of hearts over the past few months. In case it's managed to pass you by, here's the Reader's Digest version: nine-year-old Owain Weinert (who suffers from leukemia) was put in touch with PopCap Games via the Make-A-Wish Foundation because it was his dream to create a video game. As a result, PopCap had Owain work with one of its 4th & Battery teams. The end result was this gem of a title for iOS devices.
On Facebook, social strategy games based on the classic online game Travian have turned into a booming business for developers like Kabam. Roman Empire is iFree Studio's attempt to bring the formula mobile, where the format faces certain challenges. Mobile handsets generally can't offer quite as much screen real estate as the average PC screen, and strategy games frequently revolve around carefully arranging detailed building icons on a series of maps. Roman Empire has removed this aspect of these games entirely, in favor of an interface that is almost entirely text-only.
Edgeworld is a Facebook game developed by Kabam that puts you in the shoes of an army commander in an intergalactic war. Gamezebo's Edgeworld strategy guide and walkthrough will provide you with a quick start guide, tips and tricks, hints, and cheats to help you rule the galaxy.
Most role-playing games on Facebook are called text RPGs because, while they do feature quests and loot, there's no real sense of exploring a fictional world. There are no in-game maps or locations to explore on even the most rudimentary level. Six Gun Galaxy's role-playing portion is, comparatively, a great leap forward. It introduces area maps to explore and a world map that connects the game's areas together in a logical, convenient way. You can also invest in building up your own village in Six Gun Galaxy, but this part of the game is less of a leap forward when compared to competitors.
