Just saying the words Total War immediately brings to mind images of hundreds of troops clashing in glorious battle on the PC. Bringing the series to iOS brings up obvious questions of available real estate, so SEGA and The Creative Assembly have dreamed up a creative compromise in the form of Total War Battles: Shogun, which makes real-time strategy just the right size for your mobile device.
Think you've got a bright future as a wanted criminal? Well, how do you know unless you try? No, no, don't worry: you won't have to turn your back on your ideals or your family. Instead, you just need to keep an eye out for Chillingo's Robbery Bob, a stealth action game that's coming to iOS.
Did you ever see that gigantic machine that digs out gigantic, tunnel-shaped holes in the Earth? It's got that gnarly cone on the front of it that looks like it will just eat your soul if you were to get within 100 feet of it. Imagine if that thing had tank treads, moved pretty quick and had guns on it. Do I have your attention yet? I'm guessing I do, but please, temper your excitement. "Dofus" might be one letter away from something goofy in English, but it's serious business in France, where Ankama Games has turned it into a mini-empire of MMORPG goodness. For the iOS crowd, Ankama is revisiting that world with Dofus: Battles 2, a tower attack game that makes players use their brains as much as they use their fingers.
If you're old enough to remember the good old days of playing video games in the arcade with a joystick and some brightly colored buttons, you likely will recall the beast-based fighting game Primal Rage. Fast forward to the era where the term "Arcade" conjures up images of a menu on the Xbox, and we find that developer Izelis is channeling that old fauna fighter with Survival of the Fittest. The title, built for Facebook, pits players against one another in a battle for animal supremacy.
On the website where players can register to play, Atlus describes Knights of the Sky as a free-to-play MMORTS game. That description may not be 100 percent correct, but it is an interesting experiment: a browser-based strategy game with fantasy MMO and RPG elements and a heavy anime influence. It also doesn't cost anything to try, if any part of the last sentence caught your attention.
