Born Into Darkness Review
By Erin Bell
Not even zombies can come close to matching the widespread pop culture appeal of vampires these days. They've gone from being the filthy monsters of European folklore to the dark, powerful and sexy stars of their own novels (Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles), movies (Dracula), and TV shows (Angel, True Blood). Born Into Darkness is a hidden object game that exploits the vamp theme too, but not in a particularly compelling way.Defend and Defeat: Kingdoms Review
By Chad Sapieha
Defend and Defeat: Kingdoms puts players in the shoes of a noble who is trying to conquer and reunite the land after an inexperienced teenage couple thrust into the roles of king and queen let it fall to chaos. That's about all the story we're provided in this humdrum medieval-themed strategy affair from Pigdog Games before being thrust into a series of 17 missions, each of which involves building up a town from scratch, defending it from enemies, and satisfying a series of objectives.Millennium 2: Take Me Higher Walkthrough
By Nina de Boo
Welcome to Gamezebo's strategy guide for Millennium 2 - Take Me Higher. All maps were created by SurferGranny, and are used with permission. This is the second chapter in the Millennium saga. You need to help Marine, a young girl from the poorer parts of the country of Myst, find twelve warriors so she can participate in the elections and overthrow the rich, elitist government. Games like HipSoft's Build-a-Lot not only resurrected city simulations, popularized in the early '90s with games like SimCity, but it raised the bar high for others who want to take a stab at this genre. G5 Entertainment's Virtual City does a good job at delivering a challenging and attractive city building game - but it's not a flawless sim either.Dawn’s Light Review
By Erin Bell
Role-playing games (RPGs) routinely clock in at 30 hours of gameplay or more, but bigger is not always better. Sometimes too much of that time is spent stumbling through maze-like dungeons, scrolling past overly long-winded dialogue, and being pummelled by endless random monster encounters. Refreshingly, Dawn's Light avoids these common pitfalls. The sprite-based RPG from John Wizard Games is a smart, well-balanced adventure that should prove engaging and creative enough to impress even the most jaded of RPG veterans.Civilization Revolution Review
By Jim Squires
Last year 2K games decided to take on a remarkable challenge; re-inventing a massive nation-building simulation that could be played over days, week and years into a quick-play, one-sitting home console experience. While Civilization purists may have balked at the results, there's no denying that Civilization Revolution opened up the strategy series to a completely different brand of gamers. Now, a year later, 2K is re-inventing the experience again for the iPhone.Catan Mobile Review
The Island of Catan is a happening place. It's a hopping chunk of land that's so laden with resources that it has to beat settlers off with a big stick. Everyone wants to stake their claim to a major piece of this hexagonal floating rock in a quest for supreme colonial dominance, but they'll have to plan their turf expansion and resource gathering very carefully if they want to come out ahead. Though it never quite comes to physical blows, this island competition can get pretty cutthroat in a hurry.Knights Onrush Review
By Jim Squires
If our children learned their history from video games they would probably believe that the only two things we did in medieval times were slay dragons and siege castles. Scratch the dragons and that's not too far off. Knights Onrush embraces that classic medieval past-time of sieging neighbors castles and places you at the helm of defender. Can you protect your palatial estate from hordes of adorable little knights?
