Dream Skate Review
Poor Penny. We've all been where she is: stuck on a boring road trip in the family car, day-dreaming about doing something, anything, more enjoyable than what's she's stuck with. Fugazo's Dream Skate is what this girl's dream is about, and it's an absolute dream of a game.Pool Live Tour Review
By Leif Johnson
Any video game version of pool should always be played in real time against other players. In real life, pool is one of the quintessential games for making new acquaintances in random locations, and that cherished benefit thankfully translates well in this social version of the popular cue sport. And while Pool Live Tour could benefit from some more complex options, these social strengths along with its accessible gameplay are enough to render it one of the better games of pool on the web.Pool Master 2 Review
By Alicia Ashby
Pool Master 2 is another one of Social Point's Facebook games that feel more like a downloadable title, this time taking on the time-honored genre of PC pool games. Pool Master 2 turns pool into an attempt to get the highest score possible in two minutes of play. A player gains points for sinking shots into the pockets, with bonuses for combination shots and a penalty for scratching (that is, sinking the cue ball into a pocket). Power-ups appear in certain locations on certain tables, granting bonuses like extra time on the clock or the ability to make power shots.World Cup Table Tennis Review
Did you know that ping-pong, once upon a time, served as the ice-breaker between Communist China and the United States in the 1970s? It's true: the U.S. and China sent ping-pong players to each others' countries, which paved the way for Richard Nixon's diplomatic visit to Beijing in 1972. In short, ping-pong helped change the world, and now you can play it on your iPhone with World Cup Table Tennis.Baseball Superstars II Review
By David Stone
This is the worst kind of review to do. On paper, a game does just about everything right. But one or two big details bring the entire experience down from what it should be. Baseball Superstars II fits this to a T. It's got everything going for it, but is marred by a couple of major issues. I really wanted to like this game more than I did.Championship Manager: Rivals Review
Now that the Champion's League final is done and over with, there are plenty of soccer fans looking to fill up the void left by the off-season. Facebook is a great place for that, with games like FIFA Superstars, Bola, and now, Championship Manager: Rivals. Like most of its competition, Championship Manager is about managing a team, as opposed to actually playing. And while it does an admirable job, it's also missing some key features that hurt its longevity.Wrestler: Unstoppable Review
I've been a fan of video game wrestling titles since I was just a little kid. Back then it was Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper, and Junkyard Dog filling up my games, and I loved it. So while I was left curious about a 3D Wrestling game on Facebook, I remained excited about the prospect. But excitement was quickly replaced with anger, since Wrestler: Unstoppable isn't really a game at all.Icebreaker Hockey Review
By David Stone
Just in time for the Stanley Cup Finals (go Canucks!), Icebreaker Hockey storms its way onto the iPhone. Like its sibling Backbreaker Football, Icebreaker Hockey isn't about simulating the actual skills in a real game of hockey. Rather, it's more of a challenge just to get from one end of the ice to another without the snot being beaten out of you. Wait a minute, it is just like a real game of hockey! Thankfully, Icebreaker Hockey isn't nearly as painful.
