When it comes to gigantic companies like EA making mobile versions of their popular console games, the process is clearly a work in progress. There hasn't yet been a truly definitive version of Madden for smartphones and tablets, yet the newest foray into soccer, FIFA 14, is a surprisingly great way to play some football - and better yet, it's mostly free.One of the best things FIFA 14 has going for it is touch controls that actually work. Passing is especially slick, as a simple tap on a teammate will direct a pass toward him, with the game figuring out what kind of pass is needed based on how far away you are at the moment. You can also pass to space simply by tapping on a specific spot on the pitch, and the whole system is very effective."Shots, punts by the goalkeeper, and long clearance attempts are pulled off by drawing an arc on the screen with your finger, and if anything, shooting might be a little too easy in some cases. There's a little less precision on defense, though you can call for your men to pressure the current possessor of the ball with just a tap and go for slide tackles with a well-timed swipe. An option is in place to revert to a virtual thumbstick and buttons, but it's doubtful you'll want to go that route once you see what EA has done with touch.
Madden NFL 25 Review
Console gamers occasionally complain that the Madden NFL games don't change that much between the years, but the same thing can't be said for EA's mobile football efforts. Last year gave us Madden NFL Social, across-platform effort that was exactly what it said it was. For the series' silver anniversary, Madden NFL 25 on mobile devices switches gears to be closer to the console experience, but it's mostly just a free-to-play, watered down version of Ultimate Team mode.

When I was in the fifth grade, I somehow got the idea in my head that I wanted to join the basketball team at school. So I signed up for a weeklong basketball camp over the summer, just to sharpen up my skills, and maybe score a dunk or two for the ladies. But then a funny thing happened: I realized I couldn't quite get the ball to go into the basket, like ever, and lost every training drill for my team singlehandedly. Luckily, the new basketball RPG Dunk Dreams from Brothersport Games offers the entirely opposite experience, and can make anyone the king of the courts in a manner of minutes through deep role-playing gameplay, and even deeper systems of player customization.

It's not very often that you see a mobile game combine two vastly different genres such as basketball and role playing, but Dunk Dreams is looking to prove that selecting attributes for a rookie basketball player from the streets can be just as fun and in-depth as upgrading any old sword-wielding hero. Dunk Dreams is the very first release from Brothersport Games, a new six-person development team whose members' past contributions to gaming include work on everything from Mass Effect to Words with Friends. And to use an all-too expected euphemism, their debut game is already shaping up to be quite the slam dunk.
Baseball Slam Review
One of the things I love most about video games is just how bizarre they can get. One day I might be the wind blowing flower petals around, another I'm a zombie-slaying samurai, and another I'm an interstellar bounty hunter who was raised by alien bird people. But when I play Baseball Slam, I'm a regular old baseball player. One who was shrunk down and tossed inside a pinball machine, apparently.
Pocket League Story 2 Review
I should be absolutely sick of Kairosoft games. After recent releases Pocket Stables and Dream House Days, along with a few years of other titles, the Japanese developer should have been deemed a one trick pony. Fortunately, they do their one trick so well that any flaws and lack of originality are overshadowed by charm and fun. Pocket League Story 2 is no exception.
