Pocket Academy Review
As someone who absolutely loved Game Dev Story and Grand Prix Story, yet really didn't care for Hot Springs Story, I was very curious which type of Kairsoft game would rear its head in Pocket Academy. Weeds Social Club Preview
Video game adaptations of television shows don't have the best track record in terms of quality, but Weeds Social Club, based on the popular Showtime series Weeds, appears to be an exception. Even in its early closed beta form, the game manages to show a level of depth that's absent from most social sim games. Thing is, you may need to look past the fact that it's a game about growing marijuana.
FishHunt Review
MouseHunt was one of the very first Facebook games that I was truly addicted to. The premise was ridiculously simple: all you needed to do was lay down some cheese on a trap, blow the hunting horn, and then check back a little while later to see if you had caught anything. But there was so much variety to the traps you could lay and, more importantly, the mice you could catch that collecting them all became a compulsion. FishHunt features similar gameplay and spruces things up with a much more modern, and delightfully charming, presentation.
Holy Town Preview
Holy Town is, as far as we're aware, the first game on Facebook to put such a heavy emphasis on religion. It's a game about building a church and attracting a congregation. It's also a game where you preach to earn money, which is kind of strange. Holy Town is still in an early state, though it's currently in an open beta, and it shows. Not only does the game suffer from technical problems, like long initial load times, but there's also very little to do in the game aside from hustling up money by preaching the good word.
