It's always so refreshing to find a unique match-3 puzzler that tries something a little different, and Knightfall: Death and Taxes definitely does this. Created by UK indie developer Megadev, Namco clearly saw the potential too, and snapped this great little game up.
It Girl is a simulation game developed by CrowdStar and played on Facebook where you can make yourself into the ultimate "It Girl" The "It Girl" is beautiful, Stylish, Trendy and attends all the hot spots, and major venues. She starts out as a City girl but is soon jet setting all over the world. Update her look at the salon and purchase clothes from the trendiest stores to increase her overall hotness level. When you attend parties or even walking down the street challenge other girls to a showdown to see who is the ultimate "It Girl!
Crowdstar's It Girl may be best described as a Paris Hilton simulator. It's a game where you attempt to become the richest girl in the city by buying the hottest clothes and partying the hardest. Day jobs? Pfft! Howmiddle-class. In It Girl, you periodically get care packages of money just for existing. From the description you might expect a game that's a clone of, say, Playdom's Big City Life, but It Girlis a surprisingly complex game that plays more like a 2D MMO.
Have you ever wondered where all of the item shop owners in role-playing games get all of their stock? Yeah, me neither, but somebody sure did because EasyGameStation's difficult to pronounce (and even more difficult to classify) Recettear is based on just that premise. A bizarre mix of dungeon battling action and bartering with customers in-store, Recettear defies classification.
Up until now I've never played a match-3 puzzle tactical rpg before, but since I've played ChronoSgear I suppose I can scratch that very specific genre off my list. It's an interesting mash-up of genres that in all honesty shouldn't work, yet somehow really does. If you're a fan of match-3 puzzlers or tactical combat games then you're bound to find something interesting in this totally unique offering.
Casual RPG-maker John Wizard has only been around for about a year, but it has already released a quartet of games. What's more, in Dawn's Light 2 the fledgling studio is confident enough to assume that players are at least familiar with its predecessor (expect plenty of references to characters, places, and events from the original game). However, while returning players may get a few more jokes, there are enough new gags and personalities that the game can still be enjoyed without having experienced its forebear. That's good news, since Dawn's Light 2 may well be John Wizard's best effort yet.
Kingdom Elemental Tactics is a high-fantasy strategy game from the creators of the much-revered Gish. Over the course of the game you unlock new classes and powers to use during short 2-3 minute arena battles. The concept is interesting, and the process of unlocking new abilities and characters gives you a lot of impetus to keep playing through the game.
