German developer Goodgame Studios is hoping to revive a slowly declining genre on Facebook with Goodgame Mafia. A child of the text-based role-playing games of yesteryear, the game is a bit more visual in its presentation, but offers little in terms of a hook or anything particularly new. Even worse, for a game centered around organized crime, it is notoriously slow paced, even for a social game, and grants minimal gratification or reward for playing and progressing.
Many of us are still waiting for Ravenshire Castle, the follow-up to Ravenwood Fair that 6waves Lolapps teased back in June. But while that game has yet to be released, the world of Ravenwood is still expanding with the launch of another game set in the same universe, Ravenskye City.

But a classic tale does not a classic game make, and this one turns out to be pretty flat.
Pencil-and-paper RPGs are perhaps the original "social game," so Dungeons & Dragons and Facebook would seem like a natural fit. And happily, that's about how it works out in the new Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of Neverwinter. It's not perfect, but as an entry level D&D game on Facebook, it's actually pretty good.
