If FrontierVille was crossed with Tangled, it'd probably look a whole lot like CastleVille, the next big release from Zynga. It's a game that offers some familiar core gameplay mixed with new, and in some cases quite interesting features, and wraps it all up in a very Disney-inspired fantasy world.
There's been a lot of anticipation surrounding Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls' arrival on iOS. The 30-year-old franchise's first entry onto Apple devices seems like a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, the game actually feels like it's something that was developed in some infernal lair, far below the dungeons you find yourself wandering through.
When it comes to thankless jobs, it doesn't get much worse than that of a minion in the Soulless Legions of Evil. Your coworkers are idiots, people are always trying to kill you, and the pay sucks. That said, it may sound tempting to sign up with the monsters and fight with the forces of good anyway, but new iOS game Dark Fury proves that this idea is even worse than it sounds.
With the advent of iPhone came the dawning of a new era in gaming. Mobile gamers can now consistently rely upon cheap- and freebie-gaming romps galore. With Dawn of Magic, developer Lakoo adds to the pot with an old-school-style RPG that's light on originality but still a solid option for adventuring on the go.
New schools are always tough to settle in to. As if it's not tough enough to make new friends, find your way through an unfamiliar classroom layout, and figure out just what all the cool kids are wearing, Spellcraft: School of Magic is throwing a few extra twists and turns your way via a missing faculty and hungry monster population.
I've been gaming for a very long time. I consider myself fairly well-versed in the history of my chosen hobby and the franchises that have populated my memory over the past 25-30 years. That being said I've never heard of the Wizardry series despite its roots going back to 1981 on the Apple II and Commodore 64. This should be right in my wheel house but somehow it's just slipped by me over all this time. Back in June of this year a new entry in the series was released on PSN and that same title, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Souls, is making its way to iOS next week.
Conquer Online is one of many Asian MMOs that has decided to make itself available on Facebook in the hopes of picking up some new players, using the Kalydo Player to let users play the ordinarily client-based game through the Web. Conquer Online is not one of those games that's redesigned its interface for Facebook or segregated all the Facebook players onto their own server. You appear to get pretty much the same experience in the Facebook version of Conquer Online as in the client-based version available in English.
Costume Questis a fairly traditional action RPG freshened up almost entirely by its concept. InCostume Quest, you play one of two twins who go out trick-or-treating one Halloween night. Once out, they encounter a race of candy-stealing goblins commanded by an evil witch, one of whom mistakes one of the twins' for a giant piece of candy thanks to a candy corn costume. The other twin (the one you control) vows to rescue the missing sibling by amassing a vast collection of Halloween costumes and teaming up with other kids.
