    When it comes to games that are a long time coming, Neverwinter is right up there. With a setting that's been detailed in classic RPG supplements, prior video games, and even novels, the current version got kicked around several times before it (and developer Cryptic Studios) ended up at Perfect World Entertainment. Was the resulting free-to-play MMORPG worth the wait? If you're a casual player into action and instances, the answer is probably yes.

    A well-known Portlandia skit features two goofballs who maintain that everything's better if you merely "put a bird on it." With Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon, Kabam seems to think that you can improve the tired social combo of city building and abstract strategic warfare by putting a dragon on it. In some ways, it works, if only because it's fun to watch a dragon spreading its wings on your screen, rather than contemplating a static representation of a city. Looking for something more innovative, though? You won't find it here.

    There's been a fair amount of negative press around Kickstarter and the art of crowdfunding a game recently. We've seen games successfully funded via Kickstarter that have then gone on to receive massive delays; we've seen developers say "we're doing this so that we don't need a publisher!" who have then gone on to immediately use a publisher; we've seen games released with only a small portion of the features that the Kickstarter promised originally; and we've even seen a very small number cancelled outright.

Dunk Dreams is the very first release from Brothersport Games, a new six-person development team whose members' past contributions to gaming include work on everything from Mass Effect to Words with Friends. And to use an all-too expected euphemism, their debut game is already shaping up to be quite the slam dunk.

    Like others, I was flabbergasted when Square Enix announced its new Deus Ex game would be on iOS. In the minds of many, the announcement was further proof that Square was completely out of touch with what its community wants.  I initially agreed with that sentiment, but after playing Deus Ex: The Fall, I not only believe Square made the right move, but set the bar high for future first-person mobile titles.
