With hundreds of thousands of players eager to fill their board and win money and prizes, it was only a matter of time before Ryzing pulled the attention of other companies. Today, RockYou announced that it is acquiring Ryzing, LLC, best known for their popular Bingo by Ryzing title. Best known for it's real-money and real-prizes rewards-based gaming, the title grabs over 75,000 daily users (as well as 4 ½ stars here at Gamezebo!).
Amidst all of the recent drama surrounding Zynga Bingo and Bingo Blitz, you may have missed the release of a new bingo game on Facebook: Bingo by Ryzing. And it's pretty good. After being delayed in September, the much anticipated, Loot Drop-developed Cloudforest Expedition has now lost its publishing partner, as RockYou has announced that the two companies have terminated their publishing deal. Worse still for RockYou, the social games company is reportedly laying off 54 percent of its staff.

Social game developer and publisher RockYou has teamed up with research firm Interpret to produce a study that looks at the behavior of social gamers, and manages to break down the market into four types of gamers: players willing to spend money to get ahead, hardcore players who like to brag about their achievements, non-tech savvy players who just want to play for free, and those that play a lot but still don't want to spend any money.

The excitement for Cloudforest Expedition, the debut game from John Romero's new social games studio Loot Drop, has been steadily increasing as the game approaches its intended summer release. Just this week we saw the very first screenshot of the game in action. But now the developer has announced that the game's release will be pushed back to sometime this fall, in order to give the team more time to craft the best possible experience.
