Tropix 2 – Quest for the Golden Banana Review
Popular wisdom holds that the biggest audience for casual games is women aged 40 and up, but the creators of Tropix 2 were wise to not overlook another obvious fan base: Younger players, sure to be drawn to the vibrant graphics and simple play mechanics. Specifically targeting this audience, this strikingly personable and catchy adventure, which fuses enjoyable mini-games around fully customizable, island-themed level hubs, is sure to strike a chord with the kid in all of us.Stunning and lengthy cut-scenes are included for those who'd like to follow the overarching tale, as a monkey and his animal pals attempt to keep a treasure map out of the hands of dastardly pirates.
Space Journey Review
I've always imagined a journey into space would be filled with cosmic bodies and stellar stuff, but unfortunately when it comes to Space Journey you only get to encounter tiles, tiles and more tiles in this match-three game with a unique 3D twist.Your voyage starts as you take the role of a space captain off to find new worlds and, in the process, solve match-three puzzles. Within your spacecraft, you take control of a perpetually bouncing ball as you target three or more same-colored tiles to send them crumbling further into the abyss of space. There are a total of five areas to travel and as you progress into the game, you'll see that each area is composed of new, lusher environments.
Elven Mists 2 Review
Obsessed as many are with dwarves, gnomes, unicorns and other fey creatures, it's no wonder fantasy themes permeate so many casual game titles. Thankfully, there's always room for one more when we're talking about clever outings like Elven Mists 2, an intriguing puzzler that piles on the otherworldly charm.Albeit a tad repetitious, and the sort of New Age mysticism-heavy offering that'll surely rub some the wrong way, there's still enough challenge, and improvements over the original, available here to make the interactive tale worth trying.Deep Voyage Review
There's some good news and not-so-good news about Deep Voyage. On one hand, it's a relaxing match-3 puzzle game to whittle away a lazy afternoon, but those looking for an innovative offering will be sorely disappointed.The story of Deep Voyage involves a beautiful mermaid outside of the gates of the Underwater Kingdom, who dreams of becoming a royal sea gardener and winning the coveted design competition against some challenging peers. It's up to you, dear puzzle gamer, to help the mermaid create a gorgeous underwater garden by playing through a number of levels.
Jewel Match 2 Review
Can you handle another match-three game? Since the release of Bejeweled in 2001, you can't swing a cat without hitting one. Puzzle Kingdoms Preview
Zoo Games has revealed the first screenshots for Puzzle Kingdoms. The combination of match-three and a fantasy role-playing theme where players make matches to attack and cast spells on opponents is of course an awful lot like Puzzle Quest, but apparently you'll also have to "manage resources wisely and build an army that will help you conquer all who stand in your way." Puzzle Kingdoms will be available this holiday season for PC, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.-
