In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Big Fish Games will release its very first Irish-language casual game - a new version of the match-3 puzzler Cursed House - just in time for the March 17 holiday. Check out screenshots of the localized Irish version behind the cut.
When I was growing up I was lucky enough to live through a lot of iconic childhood moments, though I somehow missed out on owning a lemonade stand. I starred in school plays, attended summer camps, and went on a slew of trips via my Boy Scount troop, but I always felt a little twinge whenever I saw kids in my neighborhood selling juice on hot summer days. Now that I've played Fruit Juice Tycoon 2 on the iPhone, however, I'm starting to think that I may have dodged a bullet; selling juice seems like it may be way more of a hassle than it's worth.
If you've ever been to a state fair, you've seen the real-life inspiration for Coins Dozer. These coin-pushing games are known by any number of names like Jackpot or Lucky Coins, but they're all basically the same. You have a little cabinet full of coins with prize tokens and sometimes actual prizes placed on a bed of quarters. You drop quarters in, sometimes through a ramp that must be carefully aimed, and see if you can slowly push more quarters and prizes forward until they tumble down into your waiting hands.
People often think of Facebook games as being too easy. Those people clearly haven't played Molecules. The deceptively simple puzzle game is incredibly difficult, with challenging puzzles and short time limits. It might even be too hard for some. And with bare bones options this can make for a frustrating experience.
Bubble Shooter has a lot what you'd be looking for in a puzzle game. Challenging, Bust-a-Move style gameplay, cute and colorful graphics, and a gradual difficulty curve that eases you into the experience. But it also does virtually nothing to accommodate the Facebook platform. There's a dearth of social features and the game's structure actually runs counter to what most players want out of a Facebook game.
Match-3 is one of the dominating casual game genres, but it never took off quite the same way on Facebook. You've got Bejeweled Blitz, and... yeah, that's it. While Tetris Online's Feevo bears more than a passing resemblance to Bejeweled Blitz, it's still a refreshing change of pace from the endless avalanche of management sims and RPGs that you otherwise see on Facebook. Feevo is a game with some interesting quirks as match-3 games go and opts for a turn-based rather than a timer-based limit on gameplay.
I'm not sure if there's currently a group of people more despised than greedy bankers. If there is, I'm fairly certain that I don't want to meet any of them. That said, I certainly enjoyed being as one thanks to Greedy Bankers, a charming new puzzle game for the iPhone.
NinjaBee (A Kingdom for Keflings, Band of Bugs) is bringing the puzzle platformer Cloning Clyde to PC and has released a new gameplay trailer that you can check out behind the cut. Ever wonder what it would like to be cloned? In Cloning Clyde you'll clone multiple copies of Clyde - as well as splice his DNA together with sheep, frogs, monkeys and chickens - to escape a lab experiment gone horribly wrong.
