We're just a few days away from the April 15 launch of Spring Bonus, the new match-3 from the developer of Unwell Mel and Fairway Solitaire, and we have some new info and screenshots to share with you.
The story of Calamity Jane tells of a passionate figure who showed kindness towards the needy, and hostility towards those who threatened her people. Wild West Story: The Beginnings alters the story for its own match-3 gaming needs, showing Jane as an outcast who builds up a ghost town into a bustling place of interest.
Pandas have it rough. Not only do they have dietary complications and finicky reproductive cycles, they now have to contend with aerial acrobatics in their quest for true love. I can only hope that the female pandas find the scent of gunpowder deeply appealing. A prime example of animal cruelty in video games, Big Pixel Games' Land-a Panda will have you catapulting our hero from cannon to cannon in an attempt to reunite him with his beloved.
SimplePhysics is a puzzle building game from Andrew Garrison for the iPhone and iPod Touch. With very limited resources and space, you'll need to craft structures that can withstand forces in the game. With Gamezebo's strategy guide, you'll be able to become a master of physics in no time!
A man washes up on the beach of an island, the victim of a shipwreck. What was the strange face that he saw just before his boat capsized in the storm, and who wrote those messages in the sand as he lay unconscious? You'll try to find the answer to those questions and more in Vesuvia, a match-3 puzzle game with more than a few new tricks up its sleeve.
SimplePhysics is generally true to its name: the object is to build structures that withstand the forces of physics with a simple editor. However, with only a few puzzles, I was left feeling a little empty.
If anyone doubts the influence the likes of Angry Birds and Cut the Rope have had on casual games, five minutes play on Drop the Chicken should be enough to convince them. That's not because it's a crude clone in any shape or form, even though physics have a massive role to play here. But, rather, this is a game that mirrors the aforementioned Chillingo-published classics in keys areas; in their structure, in their design, and in their sheer addictiveness.
I can't figure out if Chicken Balls is either a brilliant or unfortunate title for a game. I'm learning toward unfortunate, I can't imagine people are eager to tell their friends how they're playing with something called Chicken Balls. You might be able to get away with it if the game is incredible, but when it's just ok... well, Chicken Balls may be a hard sell. Every time I mention it in this review and try not to apply it to some weird double enterdre - it's harder than you think.
