At first glance Do Do EGG appears to be a typical match-3 puzzle game, but luckily for those of us who've played more than their fair share of match-3 games, this isn't the case. Like any good puzzle game, Do Do EGG takes what's familiar and just twists it a bit to force us into thinking a little differently, using our tried and true puzzle game prowess in a new way. Unfortunately there's also a catch to this otherwise enjoyable experience.
Though it suffers the misfortune of a terribly unoriginal name, Monster Island is yet another worthwhile physics puzzler that offers players ample bang for their buck. There are a few bumps in the road, but if you're looking to make a dollar stretch, look no further than this latest offering from Miniclip.
Remember all of those rumors about how there are alligators living in the sewers? It turns out they're all true. But the alligators don't actually want to crawl out of your toilet and eat you; quite the opposite. In fact, all these scaly guys are really trying to do is get clean. At least, that's what I've learned from Disney's new iOS physics puzzler, Where's My Water? Oh, and that there's very little that's more fun than playing with alligators on a regular basis.
With every genre of games, you have games that try to crib from others while introducing a few of their own concepts. Urban Fleak shares similarities to titles such as EA's Max and the Magic Marker, with your ability to draw your way through solutions to puzzles. Unfortunately, Urban Fleak does not bring similar amounts of polish to EA's effort. While there are some solid puzzles to be had, technical issues mar what could have been an enjoyable game.
Greedy Bankers was a surprising treat when it was released on the App Store back in February. Not only did it feature some great puzzle gameplay, but it also contained a lot more charm than many big-budget iPhone games. Now, we have Greedy Bankers vs. The World, a beefed-up pseudo-sequel for the iPad. This updated (literally) larger title has a slew of new features but it still manages to provide all the fun of the original.
Hothead games have had a bit of a weird trajectory in the game making territory. They busted out of the game with the Penny Arcade game, then followed it up with Monkey Island alum Ron Gilbert's Deathspank. They then turned to iOS devices with Chromanoids and Bunny the Zombie Slayer. They've continued this mobile trend with their own take on classic number puzzles in Sudoku Rush.
Where's My Water? is a puzzle game from Disney for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Swampy is an alligator who needs water to be happy once again, and it's your mission to get water back to him using various tools and tricks. Sometimes the levels can get tricky, but luckily you have Gamezebo's quick start guide with all the tips, tricks, solutions and more you'll need to get flowing in no time.
I feel like a hipster saying this, but as an American, I was into the Canadian past time of curling way before it was cool a couple of winter Olympics ago. After routinely coming home late from my old job I would flip channels on the TV and come across this weird thing at 3 o'clock in the morning where people were brushing the ice and shouting while a big stone slowly made its way to a target at the other end. It was like some Alaskan version of shuffle board, and needless to say, I was completely hooked.
