Amazing Alex Preview
Growing up, one of the games I played to death in elementary school was The Incredible Machine. Don't ask me why my school thought it was educational; I spent most of my time blowing up little men with nitroglycerine. But speaking of not arresting me, I naturally glommed on to and became a huge fan of Casey's Contraptions as soon as I bought an iPad.
Where’s My Perry? Review
It takes a real optimist to approach any sort of media tie-in game with no hesitation. While we've been treated to plenty of good ones in the past, the lazy, uninspired ones outweigh them quite a bit. As such, I wasn't completely sure what to expect out of Where's My Perry?, a reworking of the original Where's My Water? But I went into it with an open mind, and ended up completely happy with how much was added and changed.
SQUIDS Wild West Review
SQUIDS Wild West is worth the money. I don't really like evaluating games from the cost/benefit perspective, but SQUIDS Wild West is undeniably worth the budget price it costs in the App Store. This game could sell for $35 on the 3DS and it wouldn't be out of place next to the other pieces of software available for the system. Yet at launch, this game only costs 99 cents. Its artwork, its animations, its character -- almost everything about SQUIDS exudes warmth and attention to detail. It is a labor of love, not just a product. And, most importantly, it's fun.
Rubber Tacos Preview
I had a bone to pick with the developers of Rubber Tacos. I calmly walked up to their section of the Zynga Unleashed event, practicing the words in my head: "A taco made of rubber sounds disgusting, and you're all bad people." As I drew closer, I noticed a screen looping the trailer, showing the antics of a cute little animated Luchador family. It was at that exact moment my heart grew two sizes.
Quantum Conundrum Review
The same way I occasionally get tired that random passersby mistake me for Gerard Butler, I can only imagine that Kim Swift and her team are getting tired of having Quantum Conundrum constantly berated as a "Portal clone". Yes, they are both witty first-person puzzlers with a unique dimensional physics mechanic. Unknown by many, Swift left Valve to pursue Conundrum, so you'd think she'd be off the hook by now.

It's summertime! You know what you should do to celebrate? You should drag your inflatable pool out of storage, fill it with water, and jump right in—oh, you can't swim? And you're capable of drowning in three inches of water, huh?...well, maybe you should just settle down to a game of Splash for iOS. Its water physics alone are refreshing to look at, and look! It stars an adorable panda bear!
