    One would think that a game centered around parties would be a bit more exciting, but PartyMania, from developer SparkyBee, is not. In concept, the Facebook app is interesting, letting you travel around a virtual world setting up parties. But in practice it feels more like a bunch of parts that only barely fit together. Along with that, the business simulation title is a bit lax in the game mechanics department, hosting a slew of concepts that have already been done to death.

    Much like the flesh-dripping living corpses themselves, the zombie phenomenon refuses to die. We've seen zombies take over the world in multiple movies, we've seen zombies annihilated by defensive suburban flora, and even one of this year's best console games featured a decidedly non-sequitur zombie expansion pack. And now Facebook has Zombie Mosh, which mixes the rocking undead with various elements of Frontierville and Nightclub City. The concept has undeniable charm and the friendly developers plan to release additional features as the beta progresses, but it's hard to see this as more than a novelty game that should have been scheduled for a Halloween release.

Call it piracy, call it immoral, but it opened the world to music that many of us had never heard before; music, indeed, that never would have come to our little music shops on the other side of the world. Clicking through the random player-made clubs on Basil Box's new social game ClubBox, I experienced something akin to that sense of discovery for the first time in years, and it's worth a look for that reason alone. And best of all, it's legal.
