    Moebius: Empire Rising has an impressive adventure game pedigree thanks to creator Jane Jensen's genre-defining work at Sierra, and on the Gabriel Knight series specifically.  Her commitment to quality writing, characters, and plot in each Gabriel Knight entry opened the point-and-click adventure up to explorations of deeper, more mature subjects that have persevered through modern entries like those from Wadjet Eye.  Moebius maintains this focus on writing and story, playing out like a page-turner mystery that also happens to be filled with ingenious puzzles and challenges.The story revolves around our protagonist, Malachi Rector, a world-renowned genius who utilizes his photographic memory and knowledge of history to appraise priceless antiques and expose fakes.  We learn early on that this is no desk job: Malachi travels the globe to meet the needs of his clients and has been sent to the hospital by some who have received less savory appraisals. At the start of Moebius, Malachi is approached by a government agency, FITA, to investigate the death of a young woman in Venice.  He is not expected to solve the murder, but simply research the woman's life and use his talents to decide if her biography parallels that of anyone in history.  Of course, this unique assignment becomes the gateway to a much larger mystery and conspiracy that ensnares Malachi and the player for seven chapters.

    Remember the adventure game called Moebius that we first previewed way back in April of 2012? Well guess what: the game's release is finally coming up soon after a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign! So in celebration of the game nearing its completion, the team behind Moebius has unleashed a flurry of new assets for fans to feast their eyes on, and these run the gamut from screenshots and trailers, to movie posters and prequel comics. Because that's what we're all here for, right?Now in case you're new to the world of Moebius, the game is a third-person adventure from Jane Jensen - the same Jane Jensen who brought us the Gabriel Knight series all those years ago. In this new game, players will be introduced to an eccentric genius named Malachi Rector, who has been gifted with the uncanny ability to distinguish between genuine artifacts and cheap knock-off treasures. The adventure of Moebius begins when Malachi is enlisted by a secret government agency on a project that is brimming with all sorts of mystery and - what else? - danger."So to build up that hype for Moebius before the game gets released on PC and Mac in early 2014, you can keep scrolling down on this page to take a gander at a handful of new screenshots and the stylish movie poster.     The waiting is the hardest part of post-Kickstarter anticipations, especially when the game you're waiting for is the spiritual successor to a series left untouched for nearly fourteen years.  Fans of Jane Jensen and her Gabriel Knight trilogy find consolation in knowing Moebius will be made, but an assured future existence does little to quell the hysteria-inducing impatience of "I want it now!"  Luckily, a brand new trailer and website should help ease your Moebius anxiety.  Or make it worse, but that's a risk worth taking.
