    I have a confession: I've never played Minecraft. In fact, I probably never will play Minecraft. I love the concept of boundless creation, but its particular brand of retro-looking sandbox play just doesn't appeal to me. No, I'm more of a Little Big Planet kind of person; that game allows for wonderful, whimsical creation but inside a world of more clever machinations. Wait a minute, what!? There's a game that combines them both?

    The story of Psychonauts is the stuff of video game legend. It's the tale of a game that almost didn't get made — thanks to one publisher dropping out — and managed to failed to sell when it initially launched, despite near-universal critical praise (because its new publisher utterly failed to properly promote). Since then, the game's become a cult classic and fans have been clamoring for a sequel from developer Tim Schafer. Now, after a particularly big week, it looks like Schafer might get to make the sequel with some help from Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson.

But when it finally arrived, it wasn't really what people wanted, including a general lack of content and being saddled with limitations thanks to said devices' hardware. Despite this, developer Mojang promised lots of stuff with updates and then … nothing. There's been a lot of silence from that end about when folks could expect the patch, but Mojang's finally announced a definite date.
