    As someone whose first major gaming experience was Myst - complete as it was with dot-matrix sheets full of scrawled notes - I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the point-and-click adventure. And while I won't rest until Tim Schafer has committed in writing to getting the band back together for another Monkey Island title, today's news of a Kickstarter for a top-notch Broken Sword sequel certainly fills the void... for now, Schafer. For now.

    While the real-life landing of the 2000-pound rover Curiousity on Mars this morning definitely seems like science fiction now, it's a fun experiment to go back in time and see what our forefathers thought we might have encountered within the far reaches of outer space. Dreamers of the past predicted vast worlds full of intelligent (and occasionally grotesque) extraterrestrial life. While today we now know that any possibility of life on Mars would only be in the form of microscopic organisms, we can't rule out Venus, right?

    It is with no hyperbole that I say the original Bad Dudes has one of the best endings for a game ever. I mean seriously: The president invites you to dine on cheeseburgers with him. It's the perfect payoff for all your hard work; an acknowledgment that you were, in fact, a Bad enough Dude. And yet, the purportedly disruptive product has its fair share of critics. Those who insist there are too many practical reasons preventing the console from attaining its price point, delivering consistent experiences, and proving secure for gamers and developers.
