    Art is stupid. Bears are awesome. You might disagree with one (or both) of these statements, but you know who doesn't care? Halfbrick. The makers of Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, and Colossatron are about to take the art world by storm - by tearing it apart with Rory the Bear.The next game from Australia's mobile masters is Bears vs. Art, their "first true puzzle game," according a press release issued today. And thanks to an early launch in Australia and Canada, you don't have to go by the press release alone.The object of the game is to destroy the art in 125 galleries by taking the shortest route possible (while avoiding a multitude on security measures). Mostly because bears are awesome.There's no date yet on a worldwide release, but with a soft launch already live, we don't imagine you'll have to wait too long to get grizzly on a Picasso.

    After a bit of a rocky start, Halfbrick's Band Stars is getting ready to rock out loud once again, as the cult music management game is packing up its dusty gear and setting off on a tour of your mobile screen soon.Band Stars was initially developed by Six Foot Kid and published by Fruit Ninja success story Halfbrick, where it appeared as a simple Flash game as part of Google+ Games before disappearing from the gaming world completely when the online games service was shut down in June of 2013. Well now it looks like both companies are returning to the oft-forgotten game in attempts to give it new life on the mobile platform.We reviewed the original web-based version of Band Stars last summer, and found it to be one of the rare instances where that Halfbrick name didn't sit alongside the utmost quality in casual gaming. The original Band Stars was buggy, lacked the depth of any great music management game, and just all-around wasn't a very fun time. So here's to hoping that Halfbrick was able to work out all the kinks this time around for the mobile release, and that we can all get to pumping out some much smoother jams soon!The mobile version of Band Stars already saw a soft-launch in Australia back in August, and now the Canadian version is next on the list with its own App Store release today. We'll be sure to let you know when Halfbrick's Band Stars will be playable in your country as soon as we hear those guitar solos ring!

    After a vague teaser trailer was released on the developer's blog earlier this week, it became pretty clear that Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick was up to something. Well we can now tell you that the mysterious new game has been officially unveiled by Halfbrick at PAX Australia, and it carries the quite intimidating name of Colossatron: Massive World Threat.

    Halfbrick Studios should be a pretty familiar name around these parts, as the developer has helped shape the mobile games industry with trademark titles such as Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, and most recently, Fish Out of Water. Well now it looks like Halfbrick has begun teasing another new game they have hiding up their sleeves, as a vague teaser video has appeared on the developer's blog this morning.

    Halfbrick speeding up game porting with Onan Games acquisition

    More acquisition news today as we have learned that Halfbrick Studios of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride fame have acquired Onan Games. The move gives Halfbrick control over Onan's Mandreel technology, which allows developers to create a game using C++ and then have it supported amongst iOS, Android, Flash and HTML5 without need to recode.

Last month, it turned out that Temple Run had quadrupled its income when it went free, and now it seems like Jetpack Joyride is repeating this particular piece of history.
