Ice Age Village Review
Ice Age Village is a peculiar case. It is very clearly an advergame for the upcoming Ice Age movie, yet it certainly doesn't lack the quality most advergames do. Those who turn their nose up just because of the game's intentions are missing out, for sure.Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers Review
By Nadia Oxford
Most hidden object games (HOGs) trot out hunt-the-item scenes that look as if a tornado hit an episode of Hoarders. Explanations for the mess are rarely offered, either; you're just supposed to assume that the dead/murdered person who owned the house (since that's almost always the premise) liked to collect junk. But Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers for Facebook does something a bit different: it asks you to search through beautifully-drawn crowds of animals that are clustered on plains and around watering holes. It's a fun experience for animal lovers—and it's educational!Rabbids Invasion Review
By Tony Capri
Though it's been sad to see Rayman take a backseat over the years in his own franchise, the birth of the Rabbid games has been rich with rewards. Ubisoft has struck gold with their new brand of humor, and it's given these crazy creatures license to do just about anything they want in the world of gaming. Rabbids Invasion sees the critters now invading the social scene, and once again they make "crazy" hip and hilarious. The Price is Right Slots Review
By Nick Tylwalk
Pricing games, classic music, "The Big Wheel" and beautiful models: The Price Is Right Slots by Ludia combines all of those elements from the greatest game show of all time with modern slots features for reel and wheel-spinning action on Facebook. Except for the models - you'll have to provide those yourself.Magic Tree Review
By Alicia Ashby
Magic Tree is something you don't see quite so often as you used to, even on iOS: a pretty straightforward farm sim. It includes some gameplay elements borrowed straight from Frontierville, like erecting buildings and following a loose sequence of events as you develop your territory, but at heart it's not too different from the slew of half Farmville, half Harvest Moon farm game clones that spewed onto Asian social networks and mobile phones years ago. What Magic Tree has over those earlier clones is a solid localization and a far more attractive presentation.Survey reveals that the state of the economy has a strong impact on the casual game market
By Nadia Oxford
Here's something to think about. Video games have been around for decades, but their burst of mainstream popularity is only a few years old. Why is that? What is it about this generation of video games that gave rise to reams of casual fare? The answer is multi-tiered, but according to recent survey findings, the economic downturn of the late Aughts did a great deal to bring a much wider audience to the relatively cheap pastime of gaming. Moreover, the rise of the free-to-play market, its subsequent success, and the chilly economy all tie into each other in a big way.Shrek’s Fairytale Kingdom Preview
Seeing as how no major franchise is safe from the social game craze, Shrek is one that actually makes sense just from hearing about it. Being able to build your own "Far Far Away" and manage the inner workings of it always sounded like fun, but only now is it reality with Shrek's Fairytale Kingdom from Beeline Interactive.Enjoy!
