Babel Rising: Cataclysm Preview
As a citizen of a genteel and oh-so-liberal New England state, I don't get nearly enough fire and brimstone. I had a taste of it during religion class in middle school -- Catholic middle school, mind you -- but even then we didn't dwell too much on the dramatic events of the Old Testament. It looks like I'll soon be able to brush up God's wrath, though. Babel Rising: Cataclysm puts you in the shoes of the big man upstairs, and he's pissed.

I've talked to many of the folks at Vancouver's East Side Games before; they're most definitely a vibrant, silly bunch. After all, this is the developer of Pot Farm we're talking about. And yet, with their newly announced iPad title Ruby Skies, they may have raised the bar even for themselves. Okay, let's be honest. The bar is a dot for this team.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out Review
You have to hand The Simpsons: Tapped Out one thing: it certainly doesn't hide its intentions. Almost every step of the tutorial pokes fun at the nickel-and-dime conventions of social city building, particularly in the form of the donuts that pass for premium currency, and much like Homer, it's rarely subtle. At one point, standing in one of the alternate Springfields (in other words, your friends' creations), Homer exclaims,"Wow, I'd spend money--real money--to have a town like this!" If it weren't so flagrant in its own attempts to nickel and dime you, it'd be worth appreciating EA's take on The Simpsons universe as satire of the highest order.

Kabam hasn't been in the mobile space for long, but that hasn't stopped them from covering a whole lot of ground. Their first game, Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North recently crossed the 1 million downloads threshold, and the company is on the cusp of rolling out two new titles with a similar emphasis on strategic gameplay. Seeing as how we've already covered one of them - Arcane Empires - we thought it best to move on to Mobile Command: Crisis in Europe. Filled with logic, we are.

Velcome to The Hotel Transylvania Social Game, a tower building/hotel management game for Facebook that dishes up fun like so many Halloween platters of spaghetti hair and gelatin brains.
