ArtFit Review
Social developer Pangalore has released an interesting new game on Facebook by the name of ArtFit. A puzzle game, it steers away from the more common trends of cards, mahjong, or match-3 Bejeweled clones and focuses on more unique mechanics. It's highly simplistic, yet the game is surprisingly enjoyable to play. Though it does tend to be a little bit too easy for a good while and is one of the many games that will have you reaching for the mute button.Book of Heroes Preview
By Jim Squires
Venan Entertainment is a company with a few great iOS titles under their belt. Whether we were climbing redwoods in Ninjatown: Trees of Doom or shooting asteroids in Space Miner Blast, we've had a pretty great time with everything they've had to offer so far. But when we heard their next game was going to be a freemium menu-driven RPG, it was hard not to be skittish. There were visions of text-based titles like Mafia Wars Shakedown dancing in our heads. As it turns out, Book of Heroes is nothing of the sort.Hero Academy Preview
Contrary to popular opinion, it usually takes more than a magic sword or a tragic event to make a hero. It takes hard work, grueling training sessions, and — based on the look of the upcoming mobile game Hero Academy — a whole lot of multiplayer fun.Toy Village Review
By Alicia Ashby
Casual gamers never tire of building cities or planting crops in an increasingly fanciful array of environments. Glu Games is quite happy to feed mobile gamers hungry for more city builders with Toy Village, a fairly basic city building game with a novel look and premise. In Toy Village, you're building a city for toy characters, so everything has a whimsical look right out of Babes in Toyland or Toy Story. Your main NPC mascot is Patch, a fluffy stuffed dog, and the buildings you erect distinctly look and feel like they've been assembled from colorful plastic.Mafia Farm Review
Mafia Farm may technically be a modern game, but its plays like a mash-up of two of Facebook's oldest genres. It's FarmVille meets Mafia Wars, only it's not as interesting as either. And it's not because the two genres don't play well with one another, as the seemingly strange blend works well enough. It's that the elements of the game feel both archaic and unoriginal, with little in the way of fresh ideas.WildWest Solitaire Review
Card games are often a great fit for the web. They don't take much time and can be a lot of fun strategically. Pangalore is looking to capitalize on that with its newly released Facebook title of WildWest Solitaire. Though the game of Solitaire is a bit dated, Pangalore is mixing it up with the PC game of Spider Solitaire and combining it with Mahjong and a western them. Nevertheless, while the application contains some good ideas, it ultimately comes off as rather dull and repetitious. The Godfather: Five Families Review
By Tony Capri
The real don has finally arrived on Facebook, and he's brought the Five Families with him. Kabam offers a sitdown with the cosa nostra in TheGodfather: Five Families in hopes of making social gamers an offer they can't refuse.Rise of Olympia Review
By Alicia Ashby
Slowly but surely, a sense of originality is creeping into Facebook gaming. A few years ago, a game like Rise of Olympia would've been nothing more than a Travian clone. Instead, Hoolai has made a game that takes the old Travian formula and radically simplifies it down into something more digestible and RPG-like. In Rise of Olympia, you ally with one of the three Greek gods vying for the throne of Olympus, build a city, and wage war against other players. There are also story missions that let your army battle NPC foes.
