The Sun: Football Legends Review
When a game has a good idea, it can be quite the refreshing experience. Unfortunately these ideas aren't always executed well. This is the case with the soccer management titleThe Sun: Football Legends. A game centered around progressing individual soccer players, as opposed to a whole team, it attempts to mix moral choices with mini-games of the sport itself, yet offers little cohesion between the two. Containing minimal user feedback and poor instruction, the app feels more like an amalgamation of random features rather than a complete game.Bayou Blast Review
Since Bejeweled Blitz took the Facebook world by storm, puzzle games on the platform have largely become formulaic. And Bayou Blast isn't an exception. It features bite-sized, minute long gameplay sessions combined with fun power-ups and a charming, colorful presentation. Thankfully, it also includes a somewhat novel twist on the standard match-3 formula to make it a viable alternative to the glut of Facebook puzzlers.11×11: Online Football Manager Preview
As we exclusively revealed in August, Nekki, the developer behind the fighting game Shadow Fight, is bringing its online soccer management game 11x11 to Facebook. And though the game is still a few weeks out from an official launch, we had the chance to play with the closed beta to see how the game compares to the multitude of other soccer games currently available on the social network.Word Trick Review
By Tony Capri
Fumbling over words has never been this fun. Outplay Entertainment's Word Trick doesn't reinvent the Scrabble formula, but its subtle changes and additions make this a must-play for any and all Facebook gamers.Six-Guns Review
When Six-Guns was first revealed, it looked amazing. Gameloft promised an experience like Rockstar's Wild West opus, Red Dead Redemption, except on iOS, complete with an open world to explore, crazy gunfights, and top-notch production values. In some ways Gameloft makes good on this pledge, but Six-Guns also misses the mark in a lot of places where it counts.Pet Shop Story Review
The latest incarnation of TeamLava's "Story" franchise has released onto iOS in the form of Pet Shop Story. Having already visited the business simulation realms of restaurants, zoos, and bakeries, now it's time to give cute little puppies and kitties a whirl. Centered around the same formulaic design as its predecessors, the new release offers nothing dramatically new to the genre or even the franchise itself. Nevertheless, its system has worked in the past and Pet Shop Story does improve on the relatively iterative series.Skyscraper City Review
At first, there was only the farming simulation type of social game on Facebook. But in the past few years the city-builder has also risen to insane popularity. As such yet another is making an appearance in the form of Skyscraper City. Hosting most of the core elements that make the genre what it is, the new application does attempt to change things up rather drastically with the inclusion of amusing events and an almost LEGO-style manner of construction.Pluto Attacks Review
By Leif Johnson
Poor Pluto. Not only must the weather there make Nunavut feel like Egypt, they also have to contend with upstart scientists from Earth who contend that their little hunk of rock isn't even a planet. And now, with a little help from SyFy, they're up in arms and they're not going to take it anymore. That's good news for us, because their tank battles against the unsuspecting inhabitants of Earth in Pluto Attacks represent some of the best 2D turned-based combat available on Facebook.
