Astro Garden Review
Facebook has seen its fair share of farming games over the past few years, but 6waves' latest title, Astro Garden, adds one more to the list. That said, it's actually one of the more impressive variations of the genre. Though it contains many of the standards players have come to relate to this simulation style, its premise and polish are far more interesting than its cohorts, with a good bit of creativity as well. Nevertheless, the core play is still fairly basic leaving the appeal of the game dependent on one's opinion of such sims in the first place.Farm Kingdom Review
Any game with the word "farm" in the title is one that certainly has an uphill battle to fight, but Farm Kingdom does a fairly decent of setting itself apart. Your typical farming simulation game, it contains many of the nuances of the genre but builds on them with more involved mechanics, crafting, and a generally more expansive virtual space from which to work within.Green Farm 2 Review
Gameloft has launched the newest incarnation of its popular farming title, Green Farm, with Green Farm 2. This new app brings all of the favorites of the previous mobile title back into the fray, but presents them in a new, three-dimensional, format. Though it hosts higher quality visuals and push notifications, the game is not all that distinct from its predecessor. That said, the title is solid, despite its aged genre.Farm Kingdom Preview
Social farming games may be declining in popularity, but that isn't stopping developer Mail.Ru Games from attempting to kickstart the genre with the browser game Farm Kingdom. With the addition of mini-games and a intriguing storyline this isn't just another FarmVille clone.Mafia Farm Review
Mafia Farm may technically be a modern game, but its plays like a mash-up of two of Facebook's oldest genres. It's FarmVille meets Mafia Wars, only it's not as interesting as either. And it's not because the two genres don't play well with one another, as the seemingly strange blend works well enough. It's that the elements of the game feel both archaic and unoriginal, with little in the way of fresh ideas.Hemp Tycoon Review
Farming social games have been around for a good while now, but the folks over at Adult Swim Games are looking to stylize the genre a bit with the rather bizarre Hemp Tycoon. Though games in which players grow marijuana have been done before, with apps like Pot Farm and Weeds Social Club, this new release focuses more on the business aspect, rather than avoiding the police. It's also the first game in which players get to be a talking pot leaf.Miracle City Online Review
By Alicia Ashby
Miracle City Online is one of many attempts at bringing city-building games to Android, even though we're wall past the glory days of the city-builder boom when it comes to mobile social gaming. Miracle City Online is nothing special as far as Android city-building sims go: it's completely playable, with a solid interface and a satisfying series of missions to complete. If you're already invested in another Android city-builder or already burnt out on this genre of social game, there's not much for you here. If you've got a precocious kid who likes to build or just want to give a city-builder a spin, though, this isn't a bad one to pick.FarmVille Preview
Today FarmVille will receive its second major expansion, as Zynga follows up the release of English Countryside with Lighthouse Cove. The third farm will let players enjoy a new location, complete with characters and a story, that are all designed to coincide with the incoming fall season. There's even a new restaurant feature and, more importantly, a cove full of playful dolphins.
