Back in 2010, there was an iOS app that challenged a Farmville-crazed nation with a bold proclamation: why just grow plants when you can grow plants and invading zombies? These worlds came from the proud mouths of Playforge, and their eventual multi-million-download app, Zombie Farm. Two years later, amidst rumors of Zynga stepping their farm up to a second version, it's Playforge's turn to beat them to the punch. Introducing Zombie Farm 2.Zombie Farm 2 Preview

It's a question every child asks at some point in their innocent lives: "Where do zombies come from?" Our answer is typically, "Well, when a daddy zombie loves a brain very much," etc, but PlayForge has been doing its part to deliver the difficult truth: that zombies come from farms. In fact, Zombie Farm 2 for iOS features even more zombie-cultivating fun than the first game, because hey - your kids are going to learn the truth eventually.Farm Up Review
By Leif Johnson
Farm Up is set in the 1930s, which may be the oddest time setting for a farming game imaginable. This was the age of the miserable Joads of the Grapes of Wrath, a host of failed government aid efforts, and Dorothea Lange's portraits of weather-beaten Okies fleeing the Dust Bowl. All in all, it was a time of hardship and tears that forever changed the face of rural America.Horse Haven Review
By Alicia Ashby
Horse Haven would seem to be a no-brainer when it comes to constructing a successful Facebook game, combining the virtual pet mechanics of raising and breeding favorite animals with farm sim elements of growing crops and managing livestock. Even better, Horse Haven focuses the whole thing around raising, breeding, and working horses. The basic idea is that you move from a starter horse to obtaining better horses, and then breeding new horses to increase your ranch's size and replace older horses that are retired "over the rainbow."Alien Farm Preview

Where do babies come from? We'll get back to you on that. Where do aliens come from? Why, they're grown on a farm of course. Or at least that's what Alien Farm, a free-to-play farming/combat game for iOS, would have us believe.Magic Tree Review
By Alicia Ashby
Magic Tree is something you don't see quite so often as you used to, even on iOS: a pretty straightforward farm sim. It includes some gameplay elements borrowed straight from Frontierville, like erecting buildings and following a loose sequence of events as you develop your territory, but at heart it's not too different from the slew of half Farmville, half Harvest Moon farm game clones that spewed onto Asian social networks and mobile phones years ago. What Magic Tree has over those earlier clones is a solid localization and a far more attractive presentation.Magic Tree Preview
Com2Us' upcoming Magic Tree for mobile allows you to live in a tree, which unless you're a squirrel, is something that until now you could only dream of. Just make sure to bring your magic seeds along for the ride!
