One of the latest comes from Facebook, who detailed the top 25 games on their platform in terms of user rating and engagement levels. Not every title will come as a surprise, but it's an interesting list all the same.

    If you use Facebook on your phone or tablet - and science says that there's about a 95% chance that you do - you may have noticed something different lately. And no, we're talking about the fact that the app is finally working. Rather, the social networking giant recently stepped up its mobile ad program from featured news stories to include a select pool of game developers.  Starting today, that pool will be a whole lot bigger.

    Everybody's favorite muscle bound chef Robert Irvine is undergoing a dramatic reduction in size.  As of today, his prodigious neck, biceps, and culinary skills have been shrunk down and recast in the cartoony, big-eyed sheen of Zynga's Ville series.  The Ville game in which he has taken up residence is, of course, ChefVille, and he can be found there for the next two weeks.

    Facebook has made it official first foray into gambling.  Before you scream, "but wait, that's illegal!"  It's only for a game in United Kingdom only and is restricted to Facebook members, 18 years and older.According to Techcrunch, Facebook has launched Bingo & Slots Friendsy, a gaming app that allows users to play with real money instead of Facebook Credits.

    It's no secret that the primary source of income for social games is in-app purchases. As a model, it works just fine. Sometimes, though, other models work better for certain games - like the subscription model, for example. I took notice. Why? Because now they're outpacing Facebook themselves.

    Early last month, we reported that Facebook was prepped and ready to launch their very own directory to help users navigate the chaotic waters of the site's many apps and games. At the time, there was no formal word however on whether "prepped and ready" meant launch was four weeks, or four months away. Today - almost exactly one month since the reveal - Facebook flipped the switch on App Center.
