EA kills Battlefield 3: Aftershock for good
Battlefield 3: Aftershock is an iOS installment of EA's popular shooter franchise. And, to quote the immortal film critic Jay Sherman, "it stinks." Aftershock is so bad that our own Mike Thompson did more than warn our readers away from the game: he advised them to not even look at it, lest its rotten-fish interface melt your skin like a certain Ark of the Covenant. In response to overwhelmingly bad reviews, EA is permanently suspending development on Battlefield 3: Aftershock. You may look upon the App Store again without fear.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out Preview
"Gather 'round, family! The Simpsons are going freemium!" Regardless of whether or not you feel that The Simpsons are past their sell-by date (the show just recently aired its 500th episode), it's hard ignore the news that EA is developing a freemium Simpsons title for iOS. It's also hard not to immediately fall in love with the premise for the game.
EA launches “Daily Deals” for the month of December
Everyone likes a good deal, right? Well what if I told you that Electronic Arts wanted to give you a month full of them? Starting today and running through January 2nd, 2012, EA will be offering a different special on mobile games every single day. And while there's no guarantee of a free game every day, there are definitely some freebies that will be thrown in the mix. For example -both The Sims Medieval and Need for Speed Shift 2 are absolutely free today to kick things off.
Risk: Factions unveils “Operation Like”
If you "Like" the upcoming Facebook game Risk: Factions, you'll be able to unlock free in-game content for when the game finally launches. Developer Playfish has unveiled an initiative called "Operation Like," which will see new content unlocked as more people click the "Like" button.

The Sims Social has been one of the few games on Facebook to compete with Zynga's dominance on the platform. Currrently, it sits just behind CityVillewith the second largest playerbase on Facebook, with a current player base of more than 65 million monthly active users. And according to a new report from gaming social network Raptr, many of those players came at the expense of Zynga games and other titles in The Sims series.

Yesterday we reported on the news that The Sims Social was finally live on Facebook. But if you followed the link you might have not believed us, since the game has since been taken down and replaced with an image that lists it as "Coming Soon - Undergoing Beta Testing." However, according to EA the downtime is only temporary so you should be able to get back to your sims in no time.
