    Polycraft combines the simplicity of browser-based gaming with the depth of a persistent strategy world.  While the game is entirely controllable by mouse, actions are not limited: players will gather resources, build bases, and take direct part in fast-paced battles that require both forethought and a twitchy trigger finger.  After a lengthy and productive beta period, Polycraft is now openly free-to-play via Turbulenz on the Chrome Apps Store.  A few rough edges remain, but its world has been highly polished, providing players a beautiful—yet dangerous—island habitat to play with.

    There are very few games out there of any genre or audience that have achieved such a worldwide adoration as PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies empire. Sometimes it's hard to know what you should expect from a sequel to a game that holds such a massive cult following among gamers old and young alike. There have already been some pretty high expectations surrounding PvZ 2, and to be honest, it's even a bit intimidating to be the one who gets to write this review. Because as I realized as soon as I started playing the game, how can I possibly put into words how amazing Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time truly is? Well after years of waiting, I'm happy to say that it is finally time to get those plant packets out and start protecting your time-traveling brainz once again.

You'll be renting rooms to a number of oddballs, raking in cash by setting up stores and keeping them stocked, fending off giant monster attacks using a giant crane arm on the roof, and even taking care of a weird little creature living in the basement.     Being the landlord (at least a responsible one) of a hybrid commercial/residential isn't easy. Keeping the tenants happy is a constant struggle in itself; to say nothing of the responsibilities of restocking store shelves, cleaning up after the creature that lives in the basement, and fending off incessant monster attacks. But a job's a job. And while the job in-question feels a bit familiar, it doesn't make Freak Tower any less entertaining.

    There isn't a whole lot wrong with Siegecraft TD. It's a nigh-on perfect representation of the current state of the tower defense game, filled to the brim with tower types, tons of enemies, strategic positioning across a host of varying levels, and a slick drag-and-drop interface that is easy to use. But while there isn't much to chide Siegecraft TD about, there isn't exactly a huge amount to get excited about, either. You've already played this game dozens of times before elsewhere, and the game does nothing to separate itself from the overly-saturated genre, especially on mobile.

    Thor tends to get a lot of attention, thanks in no small part to his own comic book series, but it's not often that the rest of the Norse clan get to share in that spotlight. Thor: Lord of Storms pulls back the camera a bit to include other notables such as Odin, Freyja, Einherjar warriors and more, as they defend their home from evil in the form of a hero-driven castle defense game.

    If we've learned anything from pop culture over the past few years, it's that zombies are not going to leave us alone. Like ever. Our only solace is that our flora friends have our backs, and they will prove it again this summer in Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time. EA's mobile suite had a playable version on display at E3, and yours truly got to spend some quality time with PopCap's latest effort.
