Divo Games is obviously committed to its city building franchise, having made three city builders in the last three years: Be Rich, Be Richer and this month's release, Be Richest (Divo's official namer sure isn't working very hard). Most of the time, developers think adding things to a game is the best way to improve it; for some reason, our friends at Divo have gone the opposite route. Many features here are stripped out, and the results not surprisingly, are mixed.

I'll admit it: I've found myself addicted to a handful of free-to-play sim titles from time to time. Despite a long dedication to "hardcore" titles, I got caught up in the Farmville craze when it began on Facebook, and I've been known to fall into addictive Dragonvale runs every now and then. True story: When my brother and I were kids, we kept loose change in a coffee can labeled "Seoul or Bust" in the hopes of making a trek to the 1988 Summer Olympics. We never pulled it off, nor did we have the option of jumping on Facebook to play Olympic Games City and bring the action to us. This city builder goes for the gold but doesn't quite make it.

Whether it's an attempt to move a genre forward or plug in some longstanding gaps, the lion's share of developers are actively trying to - however little - shift (or sometimes completely change) the paradigm. In the case of Tynon, a browser game with hardcore hooks and a meaty story, it's clear studio uCool set out to do both of these things.
