Pota-Toss World Tour Review
The success of Angry Birds means that there will inevitably be copycats, and the fact of the matter is there have been plenty to grace the App Store already. In the case of Pota-Toss World Tour, it's the latest in a long line of spinoffs with just enough differences to make it feel unique yet still derivative. Despite its predecessor's focus on GPS-based levels and intriguing locales, the follow-up feels stunted and more than a little lazy. Perhaps the potatoes featured in Pota-Toss World Tour are actually couch potatoes rather than the adventurous spuds seen in action in the original game. The Sparkle 2: Evo Review
Swimming around, eating colorful shapes, and chasing your own tail doesn't sound like an action-packed experience. Luckily, The Sparkle 2: Evo isn't based on action. Nor is it based around a story. Nor is it based on deep, challenging gameplay. The main focus of The Sparkle 2: Evo is swimming around, eating colorful shapes, and occasionally chasing your tail. Even if that's not your ideal way to spend a Friday night, there's certainly a bit of magic to it.Roll: Boulder Smash! Preview
By Joe Jasko
Haven't you ever wished you could be a giant boulder? I mean what's not to love? Just rolling around and crushing everything that gets in your path with no remorse. You wouldn't even have to worry about menial human needs like eating or going to the bathroom! Well luckily for us, All Things Media is letting us in on the fun in Roll: Boulder Smash!, an upcoming mobile game where players can "experience what it's like to be a boulder on the run, causing as much destruction as possible."Sela the Space Pirate Review
By Joe Jasko
As if we weren't already worried enough about sea pirates every time we go on a cruise, or Internet pirates whenever we post that sure-to-be hit video on the web, it seems that now space isn't even safe from a pirate's dastardly influence. Sela the Space Pirate is a frantic top-down space shooter with a serious steampunk attitude, and has you shooting and looting everything on this side of the stars.Breakfast at Tiffany’s Broadway Review
By Nadia Oxford
If you were born sometime past 1980, you can be forgiven for only knowing the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany's through Deep Blue Something's hit song. Regardless of your age, it's worth picking up the original Breakfast at Tiffany's novel or watching the movie; the romantic comedy showcased actress Audrey Hepburn in what many consider to be her finest role. But even if you're not in the mood to crack open a book or burrow into a film, you can still enjoy the Breakfast at Tiffany's Broadway reflex game for iOS. It's a one-note app that obviously exists to advertise the Broadway show, but it's earnest and hard to hate.Hackycat Review
By Joe Jasko
Do you ever get tired of playing the same old boring game of Hacky Sack? You aren't alone. Well what if I told you there was an exciting and challenging new way to play Hacky Sack, by kicking something that was a little more, uh, naturally aerodynamic? Still listening? Good, because now I present you with Hackycat by Ken Wong: one of the best mobile time wasters I've played in a very long time.Mission Of Crisis Review
Popular culture has taught me a thing or two over the years. One is that cats—although adorable and poofy at first glance—are diligently working on intricate schemes of world domination. Another is that one of these days we're all going to have a zombie apocalypse to deal with. GoodTEAM studios' new Android game Mission of Crisis blends both crazy memes into one enjoyable and tactics-fueled experience.Retrovirus Review
By Andy Chalk
In Retrovirus you take on the role of an anti-virus program sent out to track down and destroy a particularly nasty worm that's infected the computer in which you reside. But as an "Agent" inhabiting a world of bits and bytes that's shaped to resemble our own, the process is very hands-on: Your tools are the digital equivalent of shotguns and rocket launchers, and the worm and its minions are doing their level best to kill you. It's not without flaws, but somehow this strange, low-priced indie game turned out to be one of the most entertaining shooters I've played in an awfully long time.
