Octodad: Dadliest Catch Review
By Mike Rose
I don't really need 600+ words to explain why you need to play Octodad: Dadliest Catch, as this single paragraph will be more than enough: You play as an octopus dressed in a suit, who has a human wife and two human kids, and must complete everyday tasks without letting on that he's an octopus. Oh, and you control each of his legs and arms separately, meaning that his cephalopod tentacles sprawl all over the place and make simple movements rather difficult. If that description doesn't already have you reaching for your wallet, then let me use my additional 550 words to tempt you even further. Octodad: Dadliest Catch isn't just a one-trick pony, serving up a silly salad of jokes and nothing more - the way it couples the hilarity with the sorts of banal activities that may usually be seen as dull is sheer genius, and when you break into the second half of the game and experience some of Octodad's more touching moments, it's impossible not to fall in love with his big slimy face.We join Octodad on his wedding day, and no one appears to realize that he is, well, an octopus in a suit. This is a running joke throughout the game - only one person, a dastardly chef, knows Octodad's true identity, and goes to great lengths to attempt to unmask our tentacled hero. The jokes continue when it comes to the game's controls, too. You move Octodad's legs separately, and his other tentacles fling around in the meantime, causing carnage and mayhem wherever he goes. He can also grab items with his "hands," but it's all purposely difficult to maneuver around, and highly hilarious throughout.Dawn of the Plow Review
When game developer Dan Fitzgerald decided to take a "mini-vacation"from developing his main game, Dog Sled Saga, he really didn't take a vacation at all. Instead, he got to work on another title, but rather than an Iditarod-esque adventure, this new game is much more...undistinguished —undistinguished in the task at hand, not the fun to be had. Make no mistake: Dawn of the Plow is plenty of fun.Dawn of the Plow has players clearing the roads of snow, allowing drivers to safely get home. Snow is constantly falling, and if left neglected, will pile up and completely block a road. As the driver of a snow plow truck, it is the player's duty to ensure that everyone can get home in a timely manner. Drivers waiting for extended amounts of time will cause the player's approval rating to plummet. The more a driver waits, the longer the approval meter drops. Too low of an approval rating and the player gets fired. Players get a point for every driver that makes it through the map and gets home. Each level requires a certain number of points before the next level unlocks.Sometimes in order to clear a pile of snow, players must go off-road to move around a car and tackle clearing out a pile. Easier said than done. The snow causes a severe loss of traction and makes tight turns impossible. Of course, there is more than one car on the road at a time, so skidding around out of control is complicated by other motorists attempting to get home. Accidently smashing into another car is grounds for immediate termination. Chances are, players will accidently sideswipe or rear-end another car, long before their approval rating hits zero.Luckily for players, Dawn of the Plow randomly spawns pickups throughout the levels, which upgrade the snow plow in some way. One of the most useful pickups is special tires that allow the player to drive on snow without loss of traction. Another pickup allows the player to coat an area with ice, which stops snow from piling up. All the pickups expire eventually, so you'll need to be as efficient as possible when one is equipped.Marvel Run Jump Smash! Review
By Jim Squires
I'm a sucker for superhero games. If you follow my scribblings here at Gamezebo, you'll have probably figured that out already. So when I learned that Disney was bringing their Korean mobile hit Marvel Run Jump Smash! to the West, I was ready to welcome it with open arms.…but it's gameplay just didn't welcome me back.Marvel Run Jump Smash! is an endless runner that's trapped pretty firmly in the past. You'll have a selection of superheroes that you'll cycle through, but in the end it all plays out very much the same: you'll run, you'll jump, you'll smash. Lather, rinse, repeat.Mega Jump 2 Walkthrough
Mega Jump 2 is a free-to-play endless jumping game where your goal is to jump as high as you can for as long as you can without falling to the ground. Rack up points and collect as many coins as you can! Gamezebo's quick-start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to play your best game."Mega Jump 2 Review

A lot has certainly happened in the world of mobile gaming since Get Set Games' original Mega Jump was first released on the App Store in 2010. These days, smartphone and tablet gamers have come to expect things like console-quality graphics, the option for cross-platform play, and of course, a free-to-play model that's both fair and noninvasive. So can a purely simplistic endless jumping game still manage to take a firm hold today in 2014 as it did in the early days of the App Store? Well in the case of Mega Jump 2, I'll let my lack of sleep due to playing this game answer that for me: why yes it can, and yes it does. The gameplay of Mega Jump 2 is built on an interweaving system of jumping and falling, and the mid-game switches between the two are so seamless that you might not even realize it at first. For the majority of each game, you'll be on the offensive, so to speak: maneuvering your way side to side into gems and coins to keep your upward momentum going strong. But then you'll hit a stretch of sky where the items are scarce, and the appearance of breakable platforms quickly slows down the action to a careful and precise Doodle Jump experience. And then it's one more power-up and before you know it, you're skyrocketing through the clouds without a care once again."I encountered three different environments throughout my time with the game, although there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when one background switches over to another: jungle, beach, and a rocky canyon. In addition to these, every environment is filled with all sorts of fun hazards and gameplay mechanics, from baddies that you'll need to bop on the head, to trickster coins that jump out of the way just as you're about to nab them, to even a ball-and-chain that serves to seriously put a damper on your jumping potential. Don't worry though: you'll have plenty of awesome power-ups to breeze by these obstacles in a jiffy, like my personal favorite, Mega Mode, which makes your monster grow to fill up the majority of the screen and completely wipe out anything and everything that's floating above him!Happy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derby Walkthrough

Happy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derby is a racing/battle game created by Ender's Fund. You play as one of the titular Happy Tree Friends and drive through different environments while attempting to knock down your opponent with your slingshot. Gamezebo's quick start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to poke out your rivals' pretty eyes."Happy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derby Review

Whereas slingshots and air rifles were once regarded as symbols of childhood boisterousness and hijinks, they've since lost their innocence. It's not hard to understand why: It didn't take parents long to realize childhood can come to a quick, bloody end when a BB makes contact with a young eye at 200 feet per second. At least the violent side of child's play lives on through the Happy Tree Friends cartoon series. These Flash-based shorts bring cuddly woodland critters together in some of the most brutal playdates to hit the airwaves. Happy Tree Friends: Deadeye Derby is a racing/combat title that attempts to capture the spirit of the bloody cult hit, but its iffy controls and rampant peddling for in-app purchases make playing it as much fun as getting disemboweled."It's summertime in the world of the Happy Tree Friends. While there's never a bad time for pain amongst these friends of the forest, the summer brings a chance to indulge in two specific activities: Box kart racing and killing small animals with slingshots. The majority of Deadeye Derby is played against live opponents. When a round begins, you and your rival race side-by-side. Each of you is armed with a slingshot, and your goal is to knock your opponent off their kart with well-aimed and well-timed shots. Beware, though: Your opponent's goal is to do the same to you, and if they're faster on the draw (and if they have better equipment), they might succeed.Monster Busters Review
By Joe Jasko
When a young boy or girl makes friends with a community of emotive gingerbread people, then you don't need me to tell you that this is a bond that lasts for life right there. So when said gingerbread friends get kidnapped and imprisoned by some evil monsters, you would naturally do anything to free your delicious pals, right? Even if it means matching hundreds of those quirky little monsters in an ever-changing castle setting. And so sets the stage for Monster Busters, a new match-3 puzzler from PurpleKiwii. In the game, players take control of a young hero with no mouth as they move up an enormous tower, making matches with colorful monsters, and saving legions of imprisoned gingerbread friends in the process. While Monster Busters might not bring that many new ideas to the genre as a whole, what it does have is a whole lot of heart, and a lighthearted design that makes playing through its some-odd 500 puzzles just downright fun."It won't take you long to get accustomed to the world of Monster Busters, as the game's basic match-3 foundation is likely something that you've already played before. Each of the six main monster types on the game board has their own elemental matching effect, although these don't seem to have any influence over the actual gameplay: for instance, matching the blue monsters will sometime result in a watery splashing effect across the area. And in true Candy Crush Saga fashion, you'll have a number of different power-ups to use at your disposal, like increased moves or toy hammers that let you smash any given monster on the game board. In addition, making matches in clusters of four and above will result in your typical vertical and horizontal bomb bonuses, etc.The different level types are also pretty much par for the course for what you would expect from the new age of Candy Crush-style match-3 games. You'll need to clear a handful of designated spaces that have been covered in ice. You'll match a set number of specific monster types before the timer or your move limit runs out. And of course, you'll make matches to drop helpless gingerbread friends to the bottom of the game board, among a few other examples. But perhaps the coolest level type you'll come across in Monster Busters is the occasional boss fight, which places a giant green monster smack-dab in the middle of the game board and tasks you with chipping away at his health bar by making adjacent matches.
