Late last month, Rovio CEO Mikael Hed told Reuters that they wanted to turn Angry Birds into an entertainment brand, not unlike what Disney does with their products. While it's hard to nail down exactly what that entails, few would deny that toys are a good start. Now, thanks to a friendly tipster sending some photos to Kotaku, we may have a first glimpse of what these toys could look like.

A reader of USA Today's Pop Candy blog has just shared a lovely story about her sons' love of Angry Birds, and how that turned into a homemade real world bird-flinging experience for her children to play with.

Earlier this week, Angry Birds developer Rovio confirmed in an interview that they were using the "Tetris strategy" to get their games in the hands of as many different people as possible. Now after confirming the possibility of a Hollywood adaptation, it might be more apt to call their approach "the Mickey Mouse strategy."

Since its release back in December, Angry Birds has become nothing short of a phenomenon. The popular iPhone game has just passed the 6.5 million download mark, with the free Lite version exceeding 11 million downloads. These numbers are still miles away from developer Rovio's target, however, as their head of North American operations Peter Vesterbacka recently told VentureBeat "our goal is to get to 100 million paid downloads."

When Angry Birds latest update arrived yesterday, it introduced 15 new levels to tantalize physics gamers around the world. But of those 15, one level really stuck out.
