The Weathered Underground Review
"One of the most important pieces of cinema ever made." That's how the creators of the interactive film The Weathered Underground have decided to describe their work, and it's possibly one of the most hyperbolic statements ever made. While the idea of a choose-your-own-adventure film is interesting itself, it really only works is the movie it's based around is also interesting. Which The Weathered Underground certainly is not.Vera Blanc – Episode 1: Full Moon Review
By Mike Rose
Werewolves were originally conjured up to account for unexplainable killings, and the mythological beasts soon became known in folklore as a shape-shifting creature, with the ability to switch between human and wolf form. Of course, the idea of such a monster is ludicrous, but from Vera Blanc's point of view anything is possible - she herself can reach minds!Moonbase Alpha Review
Space. The final frontier. At some point all of us have wondered just what it would be like to venture out into the starry sky and view the mysteries of the universe first hand. But, of course, it takes a lot more than wishing to be able to take a trip to the Moon. Like, an engineering degree, for instance. So, in an attempt to inspire a new generation of space explorers, NASA has released Moonbase Alpha, a new game that aims to recreate the experience of living on the moon.Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge Review
By Jim Squires
Fans of point-and-click adventures often reminisce about the old days of LucasArts. Games like Maniac Mansion and Grim Fandango have a special place in a lot of gaming hearts, but few LucasArts classics are as universally beloved as the Monkey Island series. That's why we were so delighted when the original received a new coat of paint last year with the release of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, and why we're even more excited that its sequel has finally received the same treatment.Jim and Frank Mysteries: The Blood River Files Review
The Professor Layton formula -- which involves taking a collection of brainteasers and disguising them as an adventure game -- is quickly becoming a genre in its own right. Ever since the Professor made his debut two years ago, a number of games have attempted to mimic the formula, with varying degrees of success. The latest is The Jim & Frank Mysteries: The Blood River Files, which nails the basics, but fails to match the level of charm of its more successful predecessors.Fatale Review
Fatale isn't so much a game as an interactive experience. Though it shares some common traits with games, the real point of Fatale isn't to overcome a series of obstacles in an attempt to reach a specific goal, but instead to simply explore. You can move through the haunting world at your own pace, absorbing as many or as few details as you want. As such, this isn't a game for everyone. It's slow, short, and vague and is hindered by some incredibly sluggish controls. But for those with a little bit of patience, Fatale offers up a wholly unique experience.Last King of Africa Review
Last King of Africa is actually a port of the PC point-and-click adventure Paradise. It's not just the name that's changed though, as the entire game has been cut down in order to fit on the iPhone. Unfortunately the parts that have been removed were what made the original game fun in the first place; namely it's challenging puzzles and mysterious storyline. What's left is an experience that feels very disjointed and far too simple.Jade Rousseau – The Secret Revelations: Fall of Sant’ Antonio Preview
