Donuts Delivery (download from the App Store) starts off reasonably interesting, and then doesn’t really grow from there. It’s not that there’s anything bad with it, or that there’s any massive problem that’s going to put you off. The game just never kicks off after its solid start.

Essentially Donuts Delivery is a sliding tile puzzler. Except the tiles are donuts. Every level is a box filled with delicious treats and you need to move them around into specific positions. There’s always one gap, which you fill up with the last donut when everything else is in place.

You’ll unlock slightly different donuts as you play. Some of them will explode after you’ve moved them a set number of times. Others are joined at the hip and move at the same time. They make things a bit more intriguing, but they don’t add much more to the experience in the long-run.

Do Donuts Make You Go Nuts?

You can spend the cash you make from completing your deliveries on aesthetic upgrades for your shop. These don’t make any difference to how the game plays though, and you don’t really get to see them outside of the screen where you pay for them.

After a while things get pretty repetitive. There’s none of the new ideas that set apart other puzzle games, and the compulsion to push on for one more go isn’t there either. Everything is just okay, and that’s not really enough when there’s so much to explore on the App Store.

There’s nothing wrong with Donuts Delivery, but it doesn’t do enough to set itself apart or keep your attention. You’ll enjoy it for a few minutes, but the first time you put it down it’s unlikely you’re ever going to pick it up again.
