Six years ago PopCap Games released Plants vs. Zombies out into the world. The game has gone on to become one of the most recognizable gaming franchises from the last decade, and for good reason. The Plants vs. Zombies games are great, from the original, to its sequel, and up through last summer’s third-person shooter Garden Warfare, you can’t help but love the Plants vs. Zombies franchise.

To celebrate Plants vs. Zombies’ sixth birthday, PopCap Games invites players to partake in a ten-day celebration of plants and zombies in Plants vs. Zombies 2. The birthday event gives all participants a free World Key, gems with every victory, and five new, limited edition costumes for players to collect.

The Plants vs. Zombies birthday event is ongoing through May 14th, so log in and collect your goodies before you forget.

Along with the birthday event, PopCap Games also launched a new YouTube series, the “Double Super Extreme Challenge Gameshow” which features two community figured going head-to-head in a round of Plants vs. Zombies, with two crazy challenges set in place. The first episode is out now and features Zack Scott (of ZackScottGames on YouTube) playing against Phil Bolus, PopCap Games’ Product Manager. I watched the first episode, it’s only five minutes long, and it was actually pretty entertaining.

So yeah, Happy Birthday, Plants vs. Zombies! Here’s to another six more years of garden battles.
